UKIP about to announce ban on 1970s rock music? Speculation mounts.

A _ilent “s?”

Pride's Purge

(Satire? Or the UKIP?)

Political pundits are speculating that the UKIP are considering banning crap 1970s rock music in Britain.

The rumours come after this UKIP graffiti appeared yesterday outside a primary school in Manchester:

ukip foreigner out

Obviously some people got the wrong end of the stick and thought this was proof of racism in the ranks of the UKIP membership.

But as we all know Ukippers are not at all racist. And anyway, the graffiti clearly refers to ‘Foreigner’, not ‘Foreigners’.

Foreigner OUT!

Toto OUT!

Van Halen OUT!

Aerosmith OUT!

If the rumours are true – it’s a vote winner for sure.

Just because they can because the government lets them and protects them! Israeli settlers take over 25 homes in E.Jerusalem: residents | News , Middle East | THE DAILY STAR

Mohammed al-Khayat, whose family owns three apartments in one Silwan building, told AFP settlers had broken the locks on empty properties and then changed them.

A police spokeswoman said clashes flared later when one Palestinian man tried to get into one of the buildings.

She said the properties belonged to settlers, who had presented documents proving they had purchased them.

Elad, a hardline settler organisation that seeks to increase Jewish settlement in Israeli-annexed east Jerusalem, told AFP that a company called Kendall Finance had purchased the properties.

But Mohammed Dahla, a lawyer representing the Palestinian owners, said they denied selling them.

A spokesman for Palestinian president Mahmud Abbas, quoted by news agency Wafa, slammed “the occupation by settlers of buildings in Silwan close to the Al-Aqsa mosque.”

Silwan, an Arab neighbourhood were a few hundred hardcore settlers live, is often the scene of violence between the two sides, or between young Palestinians and police.

Hardline Buddhists in Myanmar, Sri Lanka strike anti-Islamist pact | Reuters

{Oh great: now we’re gonna have fundamentalist “Buddhist”  terrorists and wannabe-dictators!?! This has less to do with Buddhism than ISIL has to do with Islam – and what group of organized Muslims are attacking Buddhists – zero!}

Wirathu is known for his anti-Islamic sermons, and his “969 movement” has been accused of running a hate campaign against Muslims in Myanmar, where at least 240 people have been killed since June 2012.

“Both Bodu Bala Sena and 969 movement have felt that they must now come forward to derive practical and meaningful ways to address these burning issues which cannot be left for politicians to deal with,” the agreement said.

The groups will work on building networks among Buddhist societies and pool resources to fight for the faith, it said.

Wirathu was the guest of honor at a convention of the Sri Lankan group on Sunday where it announced the plan to work together ahead of a presidential election in Sri Lanka that could be held as early as January.

“The aim is to create an international Buddhist force the way we have a Buddhist force nationally in the country,” said BBS Secretary-General Galagoda Aththe Gnanasara said about the pact struck with Wirathu’s movement.

Ebola Virus Disease Outbreak — Nigeria, July–September 2014

Nigeria’s decision to use EOC/IMS to respond to Ebola resulted in a rapid, effective, and coordinated outbreak response. As of September 24, the Nigeria response had successfully limited the outbreak to 20 laboratory confirmed and probable cases (in two states) with the last cases occurring on August 18 and August 31 in Lagos and Port Harcourt, respectively. This limited spread and the rapid scale-up against the backdrop of the large, dense, urban environments of Lagos and Port Harcourt suggest early response efforts were successful; this is likely directly attributable to the Nigerian government’s strategic use of its public health institutions and the EOC/IMS structure to manage the response. The EOC/IMS approach should be a central part of national and subnational preparedness efforts for public health threats. EOC/IMS is a key component of the global health security agenda, along with Integrated Disease Surveillance and Response/International Health Regulations (IHR 2005).

Migrant deaths crossing Mediterranean top 3,000 in 2014 – BBC News

Just saying – there do not seem to be any emergency meetings being called for as in the current ebola outbreak, or pledges of millions of dollars to prevent future deaths.

More than 3,000 migrants have died crossing the Mediterranean this year, according to the International Organization for Migration (IOM).

In a report published on Monday, the IOM said the 3,072 deaths made Europe the most dangerous destination for “irregular” migrants.

The organisation said that some experts placed the toll three times as high.

This year’s total is more than double the previous peak in 2011, and exceeds last year’s estimate over four times.

Since January, 4,077 migrant deaths have occurred worldwide with 75% of fatalities happening in Europe.

Urban Farmist: Resurrecting an ancient practice of growing food | Latina Lista

Standing in a spectacular back yard in beautiful Austin, Texas, I am captivated by the energy permeating from the well-though-out landscape. To my left, a traditional, seasonal vegetable garden proudly contributes an assortment of fresh tomatoes, peppers and onions to the Farmist yield. Directly in front of me, stands a chicken coop expertly fashioned from reclaimed wood and metal.

Paintings, sculptures, painted trees and chickens fill the space between monuments. To my immediate right sits a seemingly out of place mound of garbage. Or is it tree limbs? A compost? My curiosity pitches high.

My older brother, Joseph de Leon is the proud owner and constructor of this urban farm. Soaking in the energy of back yard art, chickens and produce, my curiosity reaches maximum velocity when I finally ask, “What is this mound?” “Hugelkutur,” he replied. “A what?” I asked again. “Hugelkultur. It’s a type of raised bed garden,” he said. I was mesmerized as he explained the process and purpose behind this ancient gardening method.

Human resistance to malaria varies depending on location, study finds – ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)

Humans have evolved different defences against malaria depending on where they live, scientists have found.

About half the world’s population is exposed to the disease, which kills more than 500,000 people each year.

A study, conducted over 10 years across 11 countries, looked for specific mutations known as markers in genes that result in resistance against malaria in almost 12,000 people.

Laboratory head at the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute in Melbourne, Dr Ivo Mueller, said the study found there is a close evolutionary interplay between malaria and human populations.

“It is a complex interaction between the parasite and the human genome,” he said.

“Part of this study was done in Papua New Guinea, but most of these mutations that we found are actually not found in Papua New Guinea because people there never acquired these mutations.

Israel bans Muslims from Ibrahimi Mosque beginning Tuesday | Maan News Agency

For the second time in less than a week, Israeli authorities will ban Muslim worshipers from entering Hebron’s Ibrahimi Mosque beginning Tuesday, Sept. 30 in preparation for the Jewish holiday Yom Kippur on Oct. 4.

An official at the mosque told Ma’an via email that the mosque would be completely closed to Muslim worshipers, while “Jewish settlers” would be allowed free access.

The Israeli authorities closed the mosque to Muslim worshipers last Thursday and Friday on the occasion of the Jewish New Year as well.

Restrictions on Palestinian movement across the West Bank are frequently put in place during major Jewish holidays, ostensibly for security reasons.

Hebron specifically is a frequent site of tensions due to the presence of 500 Israeli settlers in the Old City, many of whom have illegally occupied Palestinian houses and forcibly removed the original inhabitants. They are protected by thousands of Israeli forces.

In 1994, an Israeli settler opened fire on Muslim worshipers in the Ibrahimi Mosque, killing 29 and injuring more than 100 Palestinians.

More than 500,000 Israeli settlers live in settlements across the West Bank and East Jerusalem, in contravention of international law.

They assume no one checks their sources and the spin! Ebola and the “Rapid Vaccine Response”. The U.S. Government Patented Ebola in 2009, “Now Owns all Victims’ Blood” | Global Research

This plot gets even more interesting when you realize that a patent on Ebola was awarded to the United States government just five years ago, in 2009.

That patent, number CA2741523A1, is available here.
