TRENTON — They won’t be kicking one family out of a state park because of the state government shutdown. That would be Gov. Chris Christie, his wife and kids. The governor said he and his family plan to spend the long Independence Day holiday weekend at the governor’s summer house at Island Beach State Park. The beach house is one of the perks of being the state’s chief executive. While he doesn’t live there, Christie also has use of Drumthwacket, the official gubernatorial mansion in Princeton. When a reporter asked Saturday if he thought it fair that his family would be free to enjoy a state park that would be closed to the public as a result of the shutdown, Christie stressed that the beach house is separate from the park and that his family does not ask for any state services.
“As a child, I didn’t ask to be sent to the United States. I didn’t ask to learn the English language. I didn’t ask to be a culturalized American,” said Adam Crapser, who was deported to South Korea last year, at age 41, after 38 years in the United States. “And now I was forced back to Korea, and I lost my American family.”
Donald Trump and Jeff Sessions say sending 20 ‘feds’ to the city is ‘strong leadership’ – but the move originated under Obama and success is not certain
CNN has responded with the following statement:”It is a sad day when the President of the United States encourages violence against reporters. Clearly, Sarah Huckabee Sanders lied when she said the President had never done so. Instead of preparing for his overseas trip, his first meeting with Vladimir Putin, dealing with North Korea and working on his health care bill, he is instead involved in juvenile behavior far below the dignity of his office. We will keep doing our jobs. He should start doing his.”
The Mercury reported that Multnomah Republicans had resolved in a meeting on Monday to “utilize volunteers from the Oregon Three Percenters, Oath Keepers, and other security groups” to protect their events. She went on to criticise the media for using unnamed sources, when Karem interrupted her.”Come on, you’re inflaming everybody right here, right now, with those words. This administration has done that as well,” he said.”Why in the name of heaven — any one of us are replaceable, and any one of us, if we don’t get it right, the audience has the opportunity to turn the channel or not read us.”You have been elected to serve for four years at least. There is no option other than that.”We’re here to ask you questions. You’re here to provide the answers.”And what you just did is inflammatory to people all over the country who look at it and say, ‘See, once again, the President is right and everybody else out here is fake media.’ And everybody out here is only trying to do their job.”
“The only way we stop this, the only way we save our country and our freedom is to fight this violence of lies with the clenched fist of truth.”We. Our.Our country. Our freedom. Now we see what Ms. Loesch has been building to all along. A “they” that is outside the bounds of the law, of even citizenship, of any protections whatsoever, of liberty—of even life. That’s the NRA. And we, the “they,” wants us to be afraid. This is a declaration of war. A civil war.Resist.
