Donald Trump’s White House has become the target of mockery yet again after making an awkward diplomatic boo-boo on an official release at the G20 over the weekend. In a White House transcript of remarks made by Trump prior to his meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Hamburg, Xi is referred to as “President Xi of the Republic of China” by the Office of Press Secretary Sean Spicer.Of course, Xi is, in fact, the President of the People’s Republic of China, while the Republic of China is what the government of Taiwan calls itself — a rather important distinction and something that social media users were quick to point out.
It began when the First Lady of Poland, during Donald Trump’s visit to Warsaw, sailed past him and ignored the hand he proffered for a handshake, leaving him looking grumpy-faced while she greeted his wife Melania instead. Of course, it felt like a neat and satisfying echo of the time Trump refused to shake German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s hand during her visit to Washington DC earlier this year.Funnier still was Angela Merkel’s response yesterday to Vladimir Putin (whom the Indian Express has decided to call Vlandimir) as he appeared to mansplain ballistic missiles to her. While discussing the issue, Merkel seems to indicate a missile pattern with her hand, and Putin shakes his head and waggles his finger at her in response, to which Merkel couldn’t help but roll her eyes in irritation in an exchange that’s been immortalised now in memes, GIFs and tweets on social media.

Tennant says it’s true that opioids were overprescribed in the past and should generally be a last resort for pain treatment. But he believes the media and government have now gone too far in demonizing them, and it’s legitimate pain patients who are paying the price.
The army commander slain on Tuesday is not the first Israeli to be inadvertently killed during an alleged stabbing scenario. An Israeli reportedly suffering from emotional distress apparently sought to commit “suicide by soldier” when he was killed by a civilian security guard who presumably mistook him for a Palestinian at a Jerusalem-area checkpoint earlier this year.Another Israeli was killed in February last year after he was shot when soldiers and an armed civilian opened fire on a Palestinian who allegedly attempted to stab the man.An Israeli man was shot dead in December 2015 when Israeli forces fired on two Palestinians in the Old City of Jerusalem in late December. Another Israeli was fatally stabbed during the incident.
So while this president and his administration continue to claim that American journalists are on some anti-Trump crusade when it comes to Russia, it appears that someone – a person who wants the Trump-Russia story to go away – is intentionally distributing forged documents. The real fake news isn’t coming from Trump critics or trusted news organizations – it’s coming from an entity or person who wants to undermine journalists and protect the president.
no other nation can come close to the United States in space. Moreover, because of the long lead times baked into aerospace development, almost every “accomplishment” that demonstrates American leadership in space during the next 3.5 years will have started long before President Trump took office. That said, here’s a rundown of how America already leads in space.
According to numerous reporters, women have been barred from the Speaker’s lobby for wearing sleeveless dresses and blouses. CBS reports that recently, “a young, female reporter” tried to enter the Speaker’s lobby—a room outside of the House chamber where reporters generally ask legislators questions—but was turned away because the sleeveless dress she was wearing “was considered inappropriate because her shoulders weren’t covered.”The unnamed reporter, apparently desperate to simply do her job, “ripped out pages from her notebook and stuffed them into her dress’s shoulder openings to create sleeves,” CBS reports. Her improvised outfit was still deemed unacceptable and she was turned away. At least three reporters confirmed that they had received a warning about the apparently arbitrary dress code. One report, Independent Journal Review’s Haley Byrd told CBS that she was kicked out of the Speaker’s lobby in May—the same day House Republicans passed their health care bill—for wearing a sleeveless dress. On Twitter, two reporters confirmed that either they or colleagues had been barred or warned for daring to bare their shoulders.
