Come Closer – Mariana dynasty

Where are you?
Why does your spirit call like a dying man?
Why is your candle dim like a light far away?
I can feel your faint breaths.
But this dark blanket does not allow me to find you.

I felt your heart beating a moment ago.
And your fingers brushed through my skin,
Yet you are like a passing wind.
My heart shouts for you,
Please come to me now.

Don’t whisper when my ears are not close.
For the breeze take your words away.
Don’t cry when my hands are far,
I won’t be able to wipe your tears.
Don’t call me when you can come to me.
Come to my embrace, dear love.
My heart will brighten the light in yours

I’ve had enough. My long Covid nightmare continues.

The poor side of life

Dear readers and subscribers, you I get have realised that Ive been pretty much out of action this past week. I apologise for this, I feel awful about it and I hope that it doesn’t happen again.

Ive been struggling to get through this last rebound due to needing more meds and waiting for them to be processed.

I’ll be honest with you, I’m feeling pretty low at the moment. This past year has been a complete nightmare and so far it doesn’t appear to be easing.

My health is pretty rubbish at the moment, it takes me much longer to do tasks that I didn’t used to think about. My daughters more than fed up with me being ill and I do feel like I am to blame for this. Being a single parent is tough when you’re ill.

Yesterday I learnt that the support that I was getting…

Day 60/67 of GED in Five Months, constant rate of change med. reactions, and Health Care science for Adults — Critical thinking for Human Community

We use health care related words every day, but do we see how those words are related to the mathematics and to the concepts that we must remember, or relearn, from our science basics?  Noting the relationships and patterns between various interacting concepts are important for every Adult in a republic, where we each have […]

House Of The Living Dolls

Weekend Stories by Trishikh

There is a house near the Shovabazar jetty on the banks of the mighty river Ganges, in the postcolonial city of Kolkata in India’s West Bengal state. Once it was a beauty to behold, a mansion of breathtaking artistry, a marvellous reflection of the Roman architectural style. A spectacle of wealth and power of the Bengali Babus, who profited by serving the oppressive British colonisers of the time.

Long gone are the mansions glorious days, long gone are the Babus. Now what remains is a dilapidated two-hundred-year-old haunted house, partially occupied and partly abandoned, with a reputation of unearthly terror from within its crumbling walls. They call it the ‘House Of The Living Dolls.’

Many have said with great confidence that the house is haunted. It is considered as one of the topmost scary places in an otherwise vibrant cityscape. People claim that a very eery and chilling…

When I was a young child …

Violet's Vegan Comics

Meat_2_veg

When I was a young child

An omnivore diet I ate.

I wasn’t very adventurous,

The same few things appeared on my plate.

egg chips and beans

I liked to eat egg, chips and beans,

Or sometimes sausage and mash.

Occasionally I’d have fish fingers and peas,

Or maybe corned beef hash.

***

I didn’t like many vegetables,

Only peas, baked beans and carrots.

No one could make me eat my greens,

I’d never even heard of shallots.

***

My range of fruit went as far as apples,

Bananas, an orange at Christmas.

I preferred to eat biscuits and cakes and bread,

Peanuts and crisps, not citrus.

***

When I went veggie I ate lots more eggs

And cheese instead of the flesh foods.

Fat and more fat, cholesterol and fat,

But rarely increased the plant foods.

***

Now that I’m vegan, when they say to me,

“My goodness, what do you eat?”

I…
