Empathy is a Choice

Being an empath is a personal choice. Living without judgment and seeing ourselves in the throes of others can be the fuel that transforms us from spectator to ally.

Redolent chambers of flowers

With a drop of nectar which showers

A lost deep angelic feeling into these magic vines

Unlock a mood of contentment and cheerful cries

The whispering enchantments awake

As the nature makes its way

A soul combined with divine and power

Removing mistakes which purely are sour

The birds of dawn are perfectly poised

Like a beautiful art or maybe a drawing

The slowest voices can be heard from far

And connect…

Google translation of title: We really are so different.

Shabd Jaal

Emancipation Day in Washington, D.C. – White House Historical Association

img_6192

Organized by the black elite of the city, the parades began in 1866 as a demonstration of African-American pride and political strength. School children often took a day off in order to watch all the black civic organizations and clubs march in the parade. Militia groups and Civil War veterans marched in full regalia with slogans on banners that called for liberty and equality for all citizens. 1

Rain or shine the emancipation parades went on, all throughout the city in stark contrast to the black codes of the antebellum era, which restricted the movement of African Americans throughout the city. Where slave coffles had once passed, free African Americans now marched openly rejoicing their new status as citizens. Alphabet soup for the soul – “Y”

Words from Walden

“Believe you can and your halfway there”

-Theodore Roosevelt-

Y is for You

You have everything you need inside you already.

You have energy and light and electricity coursing through your veins so you have access to higher dimensions and realms that can not be measured by science.

You are electric, your thoughts are liquid.

You are a wave of light and energy.

You are a radio and every single moment, you are transmitting your vibration across the universe. A big part of the vibration signal you send out is based on what you feel as a body and what you think as a mind. And, therein lies the problem.

As the French philosopher , Pierre Teilhard de Chardin said;

“We are not Human beings having a spiritual experience;

We are spiritual beings having a human experience.”

Those who are spiritual will understand this while

Those who are not, suffer…

Fighting Viruses

CRAIN'S COMMENTS

A new article in Lancet about the failure to eliminate polio as a disease may help us think about how we deal with COVID.

Based on experience in fighting smallpox, a campaign to eradicate the polio virus began in 1988, with the goal of complete elimination of the virus by 2000. Needless to say, the campaign failed, for a variety of reasons:

  • Scientists learned about virus mutations, and that the virus could change to deal with vaccine used against it. That doesn’t sound like rocket science now, but it was thirty years ago.
  • Scientists learned that vaccines using live virus components could complicate eradication. That’s why we don’t use them today. Again, not rocket science now, but something we needed to learn.
  • We’ve learned that reluctance to be vaccinated helps keep the virus alive and dangerous. Again, logically, no surprise, but there are too many people who don’t understand that…

Vitamin B, and Biting Insects

beetleypete

Any regular reader of this blog will know that I often post about the fact that I get badly bitten by insects. Midges, mosquitoes, horsefiles, in fact anything that will bite a human to suck blood. I have spent my life trying to minimize this annual misery by taking tablets, covering my exposed skin in creams and repellent sprays, and wearing wristbands containing chemicals that they are not supposed to like.

Some years, all of that helps to keep the bites to a minimum, but it can often make no difference whatsoever.

Once the insects started to hatch out in May, I soon began to get bites while out walking with Ollie, even though the weather was wet and not very warm. Out came the sprays, and on went the wristbands, but I still had some large bites on my head and legs.

Just over a week ago, my wife…

“Kale” Caesar Salad

snapshotsincursive

What’s Cooking in Gail’s Kitchen? The Chow Down: “Kale” Caesar Salad! Isn’t it entertaining to take ordinary food, mix it up a bit, and then give it a new name? That’s exactly what I did with the traditional Caesar salad. By partnering tender baby kale with sturdy romaine leaves, it creates a blend that is satisfying to the taste buds. The creamy Caesar dressing alone brings a nice anchovy flavor to the salad with a robust hint of garlic. Just think what would happen if we added grilled chicken. The possibilities are endless.

“KALE” CAESAR SALAD

Ingredients:

2 cups baby kale, gently torn

2 cups romaine lettuce, shredded

4 radishes, sliced

1 shallot, thinly sliced

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 tablespoon lemon juice

Kosher salt, to taste

4 tablespoons prepared Caesar dressing

1/3 cup garlic croutons

1/4 cup parmesan cheese, shaved

1 tablespoon fresh parsley

Cracked black pepper, to taste

Pokrajinski park dinosaurusa, Alberta, Kanada – Dinosaur Provincial Park, Alberta, Canada

Dinosaur Provincial Park, Alberta, Canada

Myrela
