HUNGARY: Leyen expresses “legal concerns”

Anna Van Densky blog

Brussels 23.06.2021 “This Hungarian bill is a shame. I have instructed the responsible commissioners to send a letter to express our legal concerns before the bill enters into force”

This bill clearly discriminates against people based on their sexual orientation. It goes against the fundamental values of the European Union. Human dignity, equality and respect for human rights.

Myanmar: Facebook promotes content urging violence against coup protesters – study | Myanmar | The Guardian

Facebook is promoting content that incites violence against Myanmar’s anti-coup protesters and amplifies junta misinformation, despite promising to clamp down on the misuse of its platform, according to a study.

An investigation by the rights group Global Witness found that Facebook’s recommendation algorithm continues to invite users to view content that breaches its own policies. After liking a Myanmar military fan page, which did not contain recent posts violating Facebook’s policies, the rights group found that Facebook suggested several pro-military pages that contained abusive content.

Among the posts featured on one of the pages was an image of a “wanted” poster offering a $10m bounty for the capture “dead or alive” of a young woman. The post claimed she was among protesters who had burned down a factory following a military crackdown. Images of the woman’s face and a screenshot of what appeared to be her Facebook profile were posted alongside a caption reading: “This girl is the one who committed arson in Hlaing Tharyar. Her account has been deactivated. But she cannot run.”

Gen. Hidecki Kojo and Cabinet Gen. Hideki Kojo and Cabinet

18 July – Gen. Hideki Kojo, the Japanese Prime Minister and Chief of Staff resigned along with his entire cabinet.  The former premiers of Japan as an advisory group had moved the Emperor to form a new government in the wake of the increasing defeats.  Gen. Kuniaki and Adm. Mitsumasa Yonai took over the Army and Navy, which Tojo had been running under one office.

For two weeks, the bombardments of Guam in the Marianas had continued.  On the 19th, US Navy ships started the 2-day pre-landing attacks, focusing on the Asan and Agat beaches.  A Japanese diary of these days read: “On this island, no matter where one goes, the shell follows.”

While marines crawl onto a beach, an enemy shell explodes a troop-laden amtrac offshore. Survivors from other shelled amtracs are swimming toward the beach. Simplicity and kindness ❣

AN INTROVERT EMPATH🙏

A year back picture that makes me often wonder – how could these people living a fiesty lifestyle be happy with so little with them which is approximately equal to nothing . We humans have been grumbling every now and then beside having so much apart from food , clothing, shelter – yet not satisfied. This is a story of a petite and vivacious girl who hails somewhere from hills of Himachal Pradesh , wandering with her elder brother and domesticated ruminants mammals in search for shelter and livelihood. While communicating , I could sense the simplicity , decency, strengthened with no regrets and no desires for materialistic tendencies – happily living a life which is as simple as BIRD’S NEST . The only thing that makes her physical well being healthy is wholesomeness, making herself adaptive over generations to live alongside the environment that best suits with her little…

Truth…!

Filosofa's Word

Yesterday I came across an article written by journalist Dan Rather … you all remember him, right?  While the piece was written two months ago, in early April, it is as relevant today as it was then.  I ask that you read it and think about it for a minute or two.  This is rather a follow up to this morning’s post where I shared the view of Charles M. Blow on bipartisanship, but it also extends a portion of the blame, rightly I believe, to the press.  Mr. Rather’s words come from experience and they are thought-worthy.
