Anger: Weakness Or Strength

Anita's Perspectives on Life

Anger: Weakness or Strength

Anger is a weakness, but people think of it as a strength. It is like a spark that sets you on fire first and then you burn others. If you have an anger problem, it can have a negative impact on all your relationships. Your partner, friends, kids, co-workers, and even your bosses. Your sudden outbursts can lead you into trouble with your near and dear ones and strangers as well. The fire of anger can not only hurt you but others as well.

Causes of anger

There can be a lot of things that can get you angry. Hence, we can say anger is an effect of some” cause”. If the cause is there an effect will always arise. Therefore, we must find that “cause”. There could be so many causes that can result in anger. Once we can identify the different causes of anger…

Accessibility Options I Hope to See Remain After COVID-19

Blind Injustice

One of the common refrains I’ve heard from many in the disability advocacy community is that COVID-19 has resulted in everyone from employers to religious communities creating accommodations that would’ve been helpful for people with certain kinds of disabilities to have to begin with. Some in the disability community have even noted the irony that many of the accessibility options that were previously deemed too inconvenient or difficult to implement have only been implemented during COVID-19 now that the ability of able-bodied people to function was being compromised. And that is true—it is ironic indeed.

One of the concerns is that once we get past COVID-19, many of the things that made the world more accessible in certain ways for people with certain kinds of disabilities will disappear. I hope this concern does not turn into reality. As such, on this day, the 31st anniversary of the Americans with…

VA to mandate COVID-19 vaccine for its health workers | TheHill

“I am doing this because it’s the best way to keep our veterans safe, full stop,” Denis McDonough, the secretary of Veterans Affairs, told The New York Times in an interview.

The move will apply to 115,000 employees who have the most “patient-facing” jobs, the Times reported, and they will have eight weeks to get the shots if they have not already.

Savannah becomes first major city in Georgia to reinstate masks | TheHill

Savannah Mayor Van Johnson said at a press conference Monday that he reinstated the mask mandate to halt the spread of the delta variant and to combat a rise in coronavirus cases in the local area, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Johnson reportedly said he did not want to “take a backward step” in the process of leaving the pandemic but was concerned by data showing that coronavirus cases tripled in the neighboring Chatham County in a two-week period.

An Exciting New Blog …

Filosofa's Word

Today, I would like to introduce you all to a new blogging friend, Quentin Choy, who has recently started the blog WeTheCommoners.  His blog, per his ‘About’ page …

“ … Aims to create a place where a multitude of political and non-political ideas are shared and challenged.

WeTheCommoners comes from the phrase “We the People,” found in the Constitution. The word commoner is used instead of people because a clear divide has been established between ordinary, working-class Americans and those who are meant to represent them in Washington. Many in Washington view normal people like you and I as “commoners,” or as people who come second to political parties, lobbyists, and campaigns.

In a polarized America, many are afraid to discuss things that are even slightly political, and WeTheCommoners hopes to change that. With blog posts from ordinary people with a wide range of political beliefs, your personal…
