Do Better Project web page creation request
Context, Thought, and Learning: ShiraDest Offers Project Do Better
Has anyone got the time/energy to do this:
We “need a landing page that is just about Project Do Better. Just a simple page that has a big picture explanation (preferably including visual formats like an infographic), the option to click for more detailed explanations, social media graphics & suggested text for spreading the word, and a forum where the community of volunteers comes together to work on the project. This could be a simple website made on Squarespace or perhaps a LinkTree page. “
for the project, as a free site?
Shira

Blog Etiquette — A Follow-Up
Earlier today I published a post about free speech and how it is so often being abused by those too rude or ignorant to treat people with a modicum of respect. In response to my post, I had two rude comments from my old friend Scott (sklawlor), not unexpectedly. Last week, I asked Scott to please do us both a favour and stop reading my blog. I warned that if he continued, I would censor or ban his comments. Well, he continued, and as I mulled over whether to completely ban him or simply send all his future comments to moderation, I noticed a comment from another reader, Professor Taboo, with a link to his post of December 2019 about “appropriate censorship of bigoted non-sensical comments here by indecent comments by indecent, childish Commenters”. In his post, which I encourage each of you to read, the Prof suggests…

The Trump Card
Inhale Peace; Exhale Love. Joy will Follow! - RUELHA
Nowadays couples have children And negotiate as if it were a hostage situation Let the women and children be safe But leave the men as unwanted bait! That's what many marriages have become Nobody's in love anymore and nobody's having fun Couples endure and tolerate each other Because if they split, maybe the children may suffer! Most couples begin with noble intentions To raise a child in a loving home and similar visions But, the misery and monotony of life takes over And with all the occurences around, they lose their composure Many begin with wrong reasons And then with the pressure, their children feel imprisoned Don't have kids as a retirement plan Invest now, withdraw later like a bank! Many have this strong urge to protect their legacy So all their accumulated wealth goes only to their progeny That too has a very innately selfish motive Let no other…

My Wonderland Beau
Inhale Peace; Exhale Love. Joy will Follow! - RUELHA
‘Kahin Karta Hoga Woh Mera’ is a beautiful Bollywood classic from some movie that was released in 1974. It’s so good that there have been many remix versions. The one released by Anamika Khanna somewhere in the early ’90s is what most people remember because they obviously aren’t acquainted with the ancient version. Then there’s a very recent one. And although I like the ancient version the most, the print quality is just too poor to share here.
It’s about this cheerful girl who has dreamy eyes overflowing with hopes of meeting the man of her destiny somewhere. She’s looking everywhere for him, hoping to share her dreams and life with him. She senses he’s just around somewhere and so she restlessly waits almost desperately but it seems romantic. Ah, innocent girl!
Anyway, like all my music-inspired poems, I suggest playing the song{which I have embedded below for your convenience}…

Prairie Not Pipelines
Tonight, my friends at the Great Plains Action Society will present Episode 1 of an Indigenous web series related to climate, water, and resource extraction on the Plains.
“Currently, the majority of the media and public pushback is coming from white landowners. However, these pipelines are being proposed to be forced through stolen land and treaty territories where Indigenous voices need to be heard. This forum will discuss the legal, environmental, and tribal perspectives of Carbon Capture and Storage.”
