The Gift

normabobb

What do we do with the present moment which is not static? Are we consumed by our past or are we immersed in the present moment? Living in the present isn’t a gift that we leave unopened, it is a gift that we can use to transform our lives.

London hospital boss says he may lose 1,000 staff over Covid vaccine mandate | Coronavirus | The Guardian (Me: steady on with mandate – health of the rest of staff and patients depends on compliance.)

About 10% of the 14,000 staff at King’s College hospital are yet to be fully vaccinated ahead of a mandate for all NHS staff who work directly with patients that comes into force on 1 April.

Losing more than 1,000 staff would be the most extreme outcome and there had been an increase in the number of people who still required vaccination coming forward, Kay said.

“I don’t want, at this stage, to predict or give any numbers. We’re having conversations with staff, line managers are having conversations with staff, we have a helpline,” he said. “Ultimately if individuals choose not to, it’s their choice, their personal choice.

Recipe: Soya Pulao

Inhale Peace; Exhale Love. Joy will Follow! - RUELHA

Ingredients:

  • salt to taste
  • 1/2 cup soya mini chunks
  • 3 tbsp garam masala
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 2 tbsp jaggery powder
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 2″ cinnamon sticks
  • 1-2 green chili
  • 4 small sliced onions
  • 6 small chopped tomatoes
  • 1/ pod garlic
  • 1 cup rice, long grained preferably
  • water

Marinate your cooked soya chunks for at least half a day. I used mini nuggets that absorb more flavour. Don’t discard the water used to boil the soya.

Prepare your ingredients. I sliced 4 small onions, half a pod of garlic, 6 small tomatoes, and 1std cup of rice {2Indian filter coffee tumblers}

Wash the rice very well in several rinses of clean water

Heat a vessel. Add ghee. Saute garlic, whole spices of choice, onions

Then the tomatoes followed by the spice powders and the marinated soya chunks

Add the residual soya water and bring it to a boil

Not long after beginning our lessons, Mrs. H. had noted a peculiarity about me. While Anna was quick to learn her letters and put them together as sounds, spelling out her name and mine, I was not. One evening, wishing to hear the story of Moses leading the Children of Israel through the Red Sea, I had asked Mrs. H. if she would read it to us. She did so with excellent cheer, pointing to each word as she spoke it. Not long into our reading, she was suddenly called away, and had handed me the Good Book to continue…

Filosofa Tries Not To Rant … Oops!

Filosofa's Word

I tried really hard last night to write a post that didn’t turn into a rant.  I failed.  The only news I read that didn’t evoke a rant, put me to sleep!  There’s just so darned much to rant about these days …

It appears that the inglorious Republican Party is determined to impeach President Biden.  It started the day after his inauguration when Margie Greene filed articles of impeachment against the President (before he had even settled in, let alone made any policy decisions) claiming that he had ‘abused’ his power.  Nobody took it seriously, knowing that Margie is a conspiracy theories, follower of QAnon, and not terribly intelligent.

The latest, though, really sent me into rant mode.  Senator Ted Cruz, also not terribly intelligent, has said that the Republican Party will impeach President Biden in 2023 if, in fact, they manage a majority in both chambers of Congress…
