Remember …

Filosofa's Word

Today is International Holocaust Remembrance Day.  It is a day we should all remember … a day we should hope never EVER happens again.  The lessons of this history have never been more relevant than they are today as we see many nations leaning away from democratic principles and toward authoritarianism.  Those lessons of history should be the focus of this solemn International Holocaust Remembrance Day—designated by the United Nations General Assembly in 2005, on January 27th, marking the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau, the largest Nazi concentration and death camp, in 1945.

The victims of the Holocaust were an estimated 6 million Jewish people, 200,000 Romani people, 250,000 mentally and physically disabled people, and 9,000 homosexual men by the Nazi regime and its collaborators.  We must … MUST take time to remember these victims and take note of how it all came about, else we risk repeating the mistakes…

Overcoming One Obstacle Simply Means You Can Overcome More

MoTEnv — MTE

The great law of nature allows many things to have their way, including obstacles. Life on Earth is a life of obstacles and constraints. However, as negative as the word “obstacle” sounds, each obstacle is the way to growth and development!

Just think for a moment about how you successfully overcame some obstacles in the past. Those experiences made you to become better and stronger—however, only better and stronger enough to meet an even bigger obstacle later on!

It’s important to point out that obstacles keep life continuously developing, evolving, and interesting, especially when they are unexpectedly discovered to be the sure way to hidden treasures. It can be surprising to find out the number of opportunities that are sometimes clothed and disguised in obstacles.

Run away from every obstacle and you may be running away from a ton of opportunities that life wants us to access by breaking through…

Thoughtful Thursdays, Stayed on Freedom’s Call page 48, and Community

Context, Thought, and Learning: ShiraDest Offers Project Do Better

How does community connect us to humanity?

I wrote this book in the belief that community is important.  I hope, as we come to the end of my book, Stayed on Freedom’s Call, that this journey has been a valuable one for you (last week was Page 47…):

” …

We have finished the synthesis that tells the story of Black-Jewish community cooperation in our nation’s capital, but the book is not closed.

From shared history and shared cooperation can and must come renewed cooperation, trust, and dedication to building a world in which all people, of every race and
creed, can prosper and live up to their full potential. The rabbis felt it essential that a person not separate himself from the community.

But the question is, what is so important about community?

My experience in converting to Judaism has shaped many…

Omicron BA.2 – CRAIN’S COMMENTS

The statistics may confuse some people. Omicron appears to be infecting more people than the original (Alpha) or Delta versions of the virus. On a per infection basis, Omicron directly kills fewer people than the Original or Delta version. However, because Omicron infects so many more people, the absolute death total is increasing and total deaths from Omicron are now greater than the death toll from Delta.(2).

Thursday FACTS…Real Life Consequences.

Lolsys Library

This is going to be LONG, but for all the trans people and LGBTQIA people out there, it is imperative that you read this. Not just like and carry on. You can totally like it, but please really READ this.

I was going to do a post about transgender modern History, but that’s been pushed for next week.

THIS is why I’m angry, THIS is why transphobia needs to be called out. Fuck anyone who calls me calling out bigotry’s as “insults” and allows bigotry to flourish ON THEIR PAGE, and then blocks me for RIGHTLY pointing out, that they wont call out transphobia and allow bigotry’s to flourish. I also implore anyone to report any transphobia they see on WordPress.

Seriously FUCK anyone who *thinks* that being trans youth is being all fine and dandy, and its fad.

How about REAL LIFE CONSEQUENCES of YOUR bigotry . You…
