Mario Quintana
Tenta esquecer- me …Ser lembrado é como
Deixa-me fluir, passar, cantar…
toda a tristeza dos rios é não poderem parar!
Mario Quintana. Deixe-me seguir para o mar

Covid-19 origin: Scientists traced the outbreak to a Wuhan animal seller – Vox
Denmark says sorry to children of failed experiment – BBC News
“What you were subjected to was terrible; it was inhumane, it was unfair, and it was heartless,” Mette Frederiksen told the six Inuit Greenlanders at a ceremony in the Danish capital, Copenhagen.
They were among 22 Inuit children sent to Denmark from Greenland in 1951 to learn Danish. It was part of a scheme to raise “model” Greenlanders to help bridge Danish and indigenous cultures.
However, the children remained separated from their families, lost their mother tongue and struggled with identity issues.
Faced with legal action, the Danish government settled and agreed to pay damages of 250,000 Danish kroner ($38,000; £28,000) to each of the six. The other 16 people involved have since passed away.
‘Further and further away’
Kristine Heinesen, 76, remembers vividly the day she was taken from her family, aged five.
“My brother rowed me out to the ship,” she recalls as she thumbs through a collection of old black-and-white photographs. “The MS Disko.”
At first she was excited, she says, as she thought she was going on a sailing trip. “But we went further and further away, and it became clear that I was not coming back.”
I missed my family, the language, the culture.
The children, all aged four to nine, were first placed in a care home and then lived with Danish foster parents.

Mental decline seen in older COVID patients 1 year later | CIDRAP
Potential contributor to dementia burden
The study authors noted that impaired cognition is common in the months after COVID-19 infection, especially among older patients. “It is worth noting that 21% of individuals with severe cases in this cohort experienced progressive cognitive decline, suggesting that COVID-19 may cause long-lasting damage to cognition,” they wrote.
“These findings imply that the pandemic may substantially contribute to the world dementia burden in the future.”
Potential factors in post-COVID cognitive decline, the authors said, include long-term low oxygen levels, chronic systemic inflammation, and direct viral invasion of the brain and resultant neuronal damage.
“In this cohort study of COVID-19 survivors 60 years and older who were discharged from COVID-19–designated hospitals in Wuhan, China, SARS-CoV-2 infection, especially severe infection, was associated with an increase in risk of longitudinal cognitive decline,” the researchers concluded. “The findings highlight the importance of immediate measures to deal with this challenge.”

Spiders carry out coordinated attacks to capture prey – Mágica Mistura を
This is the case for the species Anelosimus eximius – small red spiders, native to Central and South America. They live in colonies of up to thousands of individuals and work together to build giant webs that span several meters.
When an insect (like a moth or a grasshopper) gets curled up in the web, the colony begins a synchronized attack: the spiders move towards the prey, at the same time, stopping the race a few times to ensure that they all arrive together. destiny. (You can observe the behavior in this video).
Thus, spiders are able to capture prey that is up to 700 times heavier than themselves – a better meal than could be obtained in a solo attack. But it was not yet clear how individuals of the species combine their movements.

Wondering Wednesdays, Do Better, Chapter 8, section III. B.: 2/5 of a map for the later years of Phase II
Context, Thought, and Learning: ShiraDest Offers Project Do Better
This post is the start of the rough draft of Chapter 8 of my non-fiction WiP, Do Better, fka Baby Floors. This part of chapter 8 will begin the later years of mapping out a path to get there for Phase II, with a potential new adulthood rite of passage.
Sorry, Dear Readers, I forgot that this chapter has 5 sections per early and late, rather than the usual 4.
The overall objective remains that of putting a floor on poverty so that each and every baby born can have a safe childhood.
Outlines for chapter 8 will attempt to match with each section, at the bottom of each post.
Once again, by way of disclaimer, the overall goal is now to explain why we need both equ. + justice, & why in 4 phases. This chapter is part of showing what Phases I-IV could look like as potential…

Protagonismo feminino
Protagonismo feminino
A mulher deseja mudança; mudança no coletivo obviamente. Mas que para que isso aconteça, é necessário que as discussões estejam de acordo com a causa, e consciência de todos, ou da maioria pelo menos. A…

Tomato Herb Cheese Naan
What’s Cooking in Gail’s Kitchen? Cheerful Choices: Tomato Herb Cheese Naan! The other day I sent my husband to the grocery store with a short list of produce items. Sounds simple, right? Within 15 minutes, I had several frantic texts asking me to clarify the type of tomatoes I needed him to buy. Perhaps you can understand his quandary. Years ago, a shopper had their choice of garden tomatoes or cherry tomatoes. Nowadays, you practically need an Old Farmer’s Almanac to clarify all the different varieties like Cherry, Grape, Green, Roma, Beefsteak, Campari, Cocktail, San Marzano, and Vine-Ripened tomatoes. Sheesh! All I really wanted were fresh tomatoes.
TOMATO HERB CHEESE NAAN
Ingredients:
1 prepared naan, store bought
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon cornmeal
6-8 cocktail tomatoes, sliced
1 teaspoon kosher salt
8 ounces fresh mozzarella, sliced
