Leaked Kremlin Memo to Russian Media: It Is “Essential” to Feature Tucker Carlson

Mother Jones; Tucker Carlson Tonight/Zuma

On March 3, as Russian military forces bombed Ukrainian cities as part of Vladimir Putin’s illegal invasion of his neighbor, the Kremlin sent out talking points to state-friendly media outlets with a request: Use more Tucker Carlson.

“It is essential to use as much as possible fragments of broadcasts of the popular Fox News host Tucker Carlson, who sharply criticizes the actions of the United States [and] NATO, their negative role in unleashing the conflict in Ukraine, [and] the defiantly provocative behavior from the leadership of the Western countries and NATO towards the Russian Federation and towards President Putin, personally,” advises the 12-page document written in Russian. It sums up Carlson’s position: “Russia is only protecting its interests and…

Day 2/67 of 5 month GED, Adulting, and the Nile — Inspiring Critical Thinking and Community via Books, Lessons, and Story

Context, Thought, and Learning: ShiraDest Offers Project Do Better

Project Do Better starts  with empathy building, which both leads to and requires continuous learning.  Today’s question is about the Nile: how do you imagine that you would you feel about the river, if you were an Ancient Egyptian? This is a particularly key concept for all of us who live near water, or nowhere […]

The Week’s Best Cartoons 3/12

Filosofa's Word

I turn this morning to TokyoSand who, as always, has compiled the best ‘toons of the week.  This week’s cartoons, predictably, are more cringe-worthy than laugh-worthy, but even so, they speak volumes with few or no words and the talent is amazing.  Thank you, TS, for all you do!

Here are some of the best cartoons I saw this week.

O perfil da mulher pós- moderna

Yes!

Pensamentos.me/VEM comigo!

All the reasons why bikes are better than cars

Frugal Average Bicyclist

Here is a list of all the reasons why bicycles and cycling are better than cars and driving:

Bike Ride Photo by Pixabay on Pexels.com

  1. Cycling is great exercise; cars are just sitting.
  2. Bikes aren’t polluting the world with disgusting exhaust.
  3. Bicycles are much less expensive than automobiles.
  4. No gas price concerns.  If the price of gas is going up, that’s a car problem.
  5. Traffic jam?  Not for a cyclist, just ride on by.
  6. Car insurance sure is expensive, don’t need it for a bicycle.
  7. Won’t get door dings in a parking lot with a bike.
  8. Can be hard to find a parking spot with a car, not a problem with a bike.
  9. Never seen a parking meter for a bicycle.
  10. Can ride paths and trails where cars can’t go.
  11. Riding a bike is way more fun than boring old driving a car.

Focus on Digestion.

On a mission

  1. Our digestive systems are broken into 4 phases. The brain part was a surprise to me.
    a) Cephalic ( Involving the brain). The book I am reading says that digestion starts even before eating the food. The sight or smell of food starts the process of digestion in the brain.
b). Oral: When we start chewing break down larger pieces into smaller ones.
    c) Gastric Phase: HCl is a powerful digestive tool.
    d) intestinal Phase: Small and Large.
  2. My Yoga Yogin says to focus on digestion, not on a diet. The point is gratitude for food which we have, be mindful while eating chew well, and of course, Asana like Bhujangasana helps. It’s very important right nutrients are required to be observed and not wasted.

Your Children’s Future — Fight For It!!!

Filosofa's Word

There are a large number of things happening in the world today that keep me awake nights – the trampling of our voting rights in nearly every state in the U.S.; the great divide between followers of the two political parties in the U.S. and the lies being told; the lack of interest on the part of Congress to act in the best interest of the people of this nation; the war in Ukraine and the potential for world-wide disaster; the increase in racism and homophobia; climate change and our abysmal failure to address it in any meaningful ways; the failure of people to understand that COVID is NOT over; the alarming increase in the ownership of guns and their use, and much more.  However, the one that kept me awake last night was the whitewashing of history in the nation’s schools, prompted by racist individuals and supported by government…
