Are You A Tap Water Avoider? Erin Brockovich and Suzanne Boothby

“If people are avoiding tap water, they often buy bottled water at an exponentially greater cost, and that takes away money they could spend on nutritious foods in their households,” he said.

Additionally, tap water is often critical to both meal prep and clean up. If people cannot boil, wash, or steam foods because they mistrust or lack access to tap water, preparing even a simple meal can be nearly impossible.

“It all comes down to trust, and trust is often complicated,” Rosinger explained on why people avoid tap water. “The smell and taste of the water, any previous negative experiences with tap water, and the narrative about tap water in a person’s culture: All of these can influence whether people drink their tap water.”

डर / Fear

Kaushal Kishore

जो मिला ही नहीं उसे खोने का डर क्या?
फिर भी लगता है डर तुम्हें खोने का,
तुम्हारी बात ही कुछ और है,
नहीं हो तुम, फिर भी
हो मेरे पास ही…

What is the fear of losing
what I haven’t got yet?
But still I’m afraid
of losing you,
you are a bit different,
as you are not here
but still with me…

Monkeypox cases in Chicago may be plateauing | WBEZ Chicago

Chicago’s top doctor showed cautious optimism Tuesday on the spread of the monkeypox virus as cases in the city may be starting to plateau. Just weeks earlier, officials issued several warnings as cases were on the rise ahead of major summer festivals like Lollapalooza and Market Days.

As of Tuesday, there have been 793 monkeypox cases reported in Chicago since the outbreak began in June. So far there have been 113 new cases reported from last week, compared to 138 and 141 cases the prior two weeks.

“The good thing is we’re not seeing the potentially exponential growth that we were seeing early on,” Dr. Allison Arwady said during a Facebook Live on Tuesday.
