Happiness and fulfillment
We often look far away or desire material things to find happiness and fulfillment. Yet, all we really need are compassion, caring, commitment, love.

Thought for Today: Hit the Mute Button

There’s a lot of noise and distractions swirling around us today. There are far too many people who seem to have things in order or those trying to do the right thing, who are falling into a trap of anxiety, panic attacks, feeling gloomy, and overwhelmed. Enough already! Enough already! Enough!
Tomorrow is not here and not promised. Yesterday is long gone, and there is nothing you can do about it. So step away for a while today. Push your mute button to silence the noise that’s aggravating you, and hit your pause button to freeze-frame the swirls of chaos trying to make you dizzy. Your health, your heart, your mind, and your spirit need not suffer due to the outside craziness. Not today, and tomorrow ain’t lookin’ too good either! Hit your mute button when you need to, and as often as you need to.

CBS News: Leader of Dominion Voting System Speaks Out Against Election Lies
Anderson Cooper interviewed John Poulos, the CEO of Dominion Voting Systems on 60 Minutes about the attacks on the integrity of his company’s voting machines by 2020 election deniers.
Despite a rash of unsubstantiated claims lobbed against his company, the CEO of Dominion Voting Systems, John Poulos, has remained largely silent. That changed Sunday night on 60 Minutes when Poulos sat down with Anderson Cooper, saying irreparable damage has been done to his company and his employees.
“People have been put into danger. Their families have been put into danger. Their lives have been upended and all because of lies,” Poulos said. “It was a very clear calculation that they knew they were lies. And they were repeating them and endorsing them.”
“It’s important to you people admit what they said was wrong?” Cooper asked.
“It’s important to me. It’s important to all the people whose families have been impacted…

Three Defendants Sentenced in Multi-State Racketeering Conspiracy Involving Forced Labor of Mexican Agricultural H-2A Workers | OPA | Department of Justice
U.S. District Court Judge Charlene Edwards Honeywell for the Middle District of Florida sentenced Christina Gamez, 43, to 37 months in prison; Efrain Cabrera Rodas, 32, a citizen of Mexico, to 41 months in prison; and Guadalupe Mendes Mendoza, 45, to eight months of home detention and a $5,500 fine to be paid over 24 months of supervised release. Judge Honeywell also ordered Cabrera to pay nearly $25,000 and Gamez to pay over $9,000 in restitution to the victims.
“These defendants exploited their victims’ vulnerabilities and immigration status, promising them access to the American dream but then turning around and confiscating their passports and threatening arrest and deportation if they did not endlessly toil away for their profit,” said Assistant Attorney General Kristen Clarke of the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division. “The Department of Justice is committed to prosecuting those who use deception, isolation, intimidation, coercion and control to exploit their victims for compelled labor, and to ensuring that they are stripped of any profits so that the victims can rightfully use restitution proceeds to rebuild their lives.”
