Back in 1967, Latin music didn’t feature much in my teenage years in London. But I had heard of a new band from America called Santana, and I liked their sound. My dad told me about someone called Pete Rodriguez who was an American of Puerto Rican origin and said he would get me a record by him. (My dad worked in the record business)
This was the record he came home with a few weeks later. I loved it when I was 15, and still do now.
