… the Black working class has no problem with understanding the policies of the Democratic Party.
I agreed with this poster.

This is INCORRECT. READ DYING OF WHITENESS. The problem is WCW would rather BURN IT ALL DOWN THAN SHARE WITH BLK PEOPLE! WCW left the Dem party when the Civil rights act passed. They want to go back to before integration when ONLY THEY got the social safety net. It’s this simple

2) They don’t really think the safety net is “communism” they were fine with it when Roosevelt did “the great deal” because Jim Crow was intact so B people were left OUT of most of the policies. The WCW TURNED ON INSTITUTIONS BECAUSE OF INTEGRATION then it became…

3) Blacks are “welfare queens” “immigrants are stealing your jobs & housing” listen to what that framing TELLS YOU ABOUT THEM. They think they are the only ones that should get resources from the govt & other groups are “undeserving” or “stealing.”

Who’s the Boss?  | From Behind the Pen

“In well-run organizations, titles are also pretty meaningless. At best, they advertise some authority—an official status conferring the ability to give orders and induce obedience. But titles mean little in terms of real power, which is the capacity to influence and inspire.” -Colin Luther Powell, 4-Star General, Statesman, Diplomat, and former U.S. Secretary of State (April 5, 1937 – October 18, 2021)

When I began “officially” working for a paycheck at the age of 16, it was obvious that I needed guidance from an area supervisor or manager with experience. I tried to soak up learning as much as possible and then some, to make sure I would do the best possible job I was hired to do.

Yet through the years of various positions I held, I saw people who wanted or had managerial authority over me and who needed to be retrained on human interpersonal relationships themselves. I vowed when I became responsible for managing a department or company of people, that I would remember how I felt when I had supervisors/managers who wanted to wield their power as “Who’s the boss, so bow down and kiss my ring,” instead of making their employees feel the importance of their job contributions and treat/respect them like they are a valuable part of the team, and not a plain ole worthless subordinate.

When I graduated from various leadership levels, I made sure that my team was not treated as a separate entity from me. I didn’t walk around beating my chest like King Kong. I didn’t make people feel that they needed to bow down or curtsy to me as I walked by or sat down in a department or corporate meeting. When I accepted positions on the hierarchy of leadership, I knew that I was only as good as my team was. I also worked with a few arrogant people in leadership capacities who wanted the power and authority of the position but were nowhere near qualified or capable of fulfilling such responsibilities. When they got what they wanted, they abused their power.

Colin Powell - WikipediaAll too often people confuse being the boss with good leadership. Not always the case. I am such a fan of the late 4-Star General and former U.S. Secretary of State, Colin Luther Powell. His expertise in leadership is “bar none”. My husband told me about General Powell when he came through the hospital to visit the soldiers who were wounded in Vietnam, in which my husband was one of those wounded soldiers. He told me how gracious Powell was when he met him. “Who would have thought Powell would have graduated to the level of leadership and prominence he has achieved since I met him that day while recovering from my wounds in Vietnam,” my husband remembered.

But when I have seen people put in leadership roles without the experience of doing right in the position and for the organization,  I observed how they have allowed their egos to emit a toxic work environment throughout the organization or department, creating divisiveness, not unity amongst team members. Morale can plummet to an all-time low. I’ve seen it plummet and it gets worse when the problem becomes monstrous. Thus, I ask, “Should the boss, who’s the boss, really be the boss?”

Where did COVID-19 originate? Saskatoon lab helps with genetic analysis that points to animal market | CBC News

…The analysis doesn’t prove the animals in those areas were infected. However, the proximity of COVID-19 samples to where their DNA was located means it’s a strong likelihood they were carriers, according to the study.

Dr. Lisa Barrett, an infectious disease specialist at Dalhousie University in Halifax, said the study is a good example of “very careful and pretty unbiased science” that could help prepare for future pandemic responses. It shows the importance of considering the density of animals in relation to humans and monitoring the wildlife trade, she said.
