After losing his job, a man struggled to pay rent. Despite reaching out on Facebook and Instagram for help, he received only seven likes and no comments, from his so-called friends or followers, with some suspecting it was a fraudulent plea.
Desperate, he messaged around 200 contacts asking for a loan of Rs 25,000. Out of those, only nine responded. Eight expressed inability, and just one friend offered Rs 5,000.
Finally, he found himself without a home due to unpaid rent, forcing him to sleep on the pavement. Unfortunately, a thief took advantage, stealing his purse containing only his identity card. The thief’s escape was cut short by a fast-moving car, resulting in his immediate demise.
The following day, news of the incident quickly circulated. Approximately 950 individuals claiming to be friends posted on his Facebook wall, sharing stories of their acquaintance and praising his greatness.
His coworkers joined together and collected Rs 90,000 for funeral expenses. His relatives also came together and added another Rs 25,000.
As people prepared to eulogise him, praising his talents, words, and deeds at the funeral, he unexpectedly made a dramatic appearance.
Everyone was shocked to see him alive, some speculated he was a ghost. Surprisingly, only a few rejoiced at his return, while the majority felt disheartened as their efforts seemed in vain.

The above anecdote captures the ironic facets of modern life, prompting me to write a poem:
Don’t Let Silence Prevail
In life’s intricate dance, threads woven with grace,
Forgive the missteps, let understanding embrace…
Cherish fellow hearts, in their journey you find,
Speak words of kindness, leave no sentiments behind…
*
Time, a fleeting river, moments fleet and swift,
Engage in dialogue, let love mend any rift…
Spend the present wisely, with those who breathe,
For tomorrow’s whispers may be shrouded in sheath…
*
A symphony of laughter, a chorus of delight,
Don’t delay joy, bask in the warmth of shared light…
Let your actions ripple in the pool of now,
Before shadows deepen, and time takes its bow…
*
Speak your affection, don’t let silence prevail,
In the vibrant tapestry, weave love’s gentle trail…
For life’s sweetest melodies are composed by you,
Moments cherished, connections you brew…
