How Do We Use Our Time? | From Behind the Pen

It’s not always about how much we do, but what we can do with the time we have. It’s not always about what we didn’t get done with the time we had, but how much we got done with the time we used.

It’s digestible to utilize time when we understand our purpose, our mission, and our path. Do we linger too long or too short in a space of time, where activity versus productivity are at odds?

In our circle of influence let’s expand our sphere of love, compassion, goodness, and hope. Through acts of kindness and service, let us not waste our time or our talents.

What we do with our time and how we utilize it is part of our legacy. How will we be remembered for what we did and what we contributed with our time? Become the salt and light for the whole world to taste, savor, and see.

Embryo shipping services to halt business in Alabama after IVF ruling | Alabama | The Guardian

Some nationwide embryo shipping services have indicated that they will stop transporting embryos to and from Alabama following the state’s recent supreme court decision ruling frozen embryos are “children”, according to a major infertility association.

In the week since the ruling, IVF clinics, auxiliary services and patients have grappled with whether they are able to legally operate. While the court’s decision recognized embryos as “children”, it did not specify how existing embryos should be handled.

Rapid measles outbreak response critical to protect millions of vulnerable children

Updated data from 2023 are driving home the urgency of a swift and concerted response to measles outbreaks in the WHO European Region, underpinned by the need to protect everyone who remains vulnerable to the disease.

Last year, more than 58 000 people in 41 of the 53 Member States in the Region – straddling Europe and central Asia – were infected with measles, resulting in thousands of hospitalizations and 10 measles-related deaths.

The latest numbers from 2023 represent a rapid increase compared to the previous 3 years, and a risk for anyone in the Region who is not protected. Sustained efforts are clearly needed to prevent measles cases from continuing to rise in 2024.

The high proportion (nearly half) of cases among children below 5 years of age reflects, once again, the enormous impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on health systems, including routine immunization services. This has resulted in a significant accumulation of susceptible children who have missed their routine vaccinations against measles and other vaccine-preventable diseases…

जिन गलियों से तुम आती हो,

मेरे ख्वाबों में

तलाशता रहता हूं मैं

उन गलियों को गुगल मैप्स में,

जो हमेशा मुझे

गलत रास्ता ही बताता है…

I keep searching

in Google Maps,

for the lanes, through which

you come in my dreams,

which always leads me

down the wrong path…

Rivers…by Mágica Mistura – Mágica Mistura

The river is a beautiful example

Of unity, of power, of strength

Have you ever seen the source of a river?

It's simply a water hole

Almost always lonely, shy

That, along the way

With other aspects it joins

Gaining body, volume

It is now a stream…

Still without pride

Accepting willingly,

The waters that arrive

Soon, soon it becomes a stream

But the goal is bigger

The ocean needs to reach

The road is still long

Our river continues to flow

The tributaries contribute

He is now a river

Its width expands

Its waters are renewed,

With contributions for the course

It goes beyond limits…

Finally the sea reaches

A perfect cycle of nature.

We humans could

Take the example of the river

Leave pride aside

Becoming one, united

Proving to ourselves

That we overcome any obstacle…
