And as an addendum, here are a list of policies or initiatives Republicans are pushing around the country that disproportionately hurt Black people that Democrats are against:

1. Voter ID Laws – Several states have passed voter identification laws that critics argue disproportionately affect minority voters, including black Americans, who may be less likely to possess the required forms of identification.

2. Redistricting Plans – Some states have implemented or proposed redistricting plans that critics argue dilute the voting power of black communities by dividing them across multiple districts or concentrating them into a single district (packing or cracking).

3. “Stand Your Ground” Laws – Some states have enacted or expanded “stand your ground” laws, which allow individuals to use deadly force in self-defense without a duty to retreat. Critics argue that these laws disproportionately harm black Americans, who are more likely to be perceived as threats and targeted by violence.

4. Criminal Justice Bills – Some states have passed or proposed legislation that increases penalties for certain crimes or expands the use of mandatory minimum sentences, which critics argue disproportionately affect black Americans due to racial disparities in the criminal justice system.

5. Drug Enforcement Policies – Some states have implemented or proposed harsh drug enforcement policies, such as mandatory minimum sentences for drug offenses, which critics argue disproportionately impact black Americans despite similar rates of drug use across racial groups.

6. Welfare Reforms – Some states have passed or proposed welfare reforms that impose strict work requirements or time limits on benefits, which critics argue disproportionately affect black Americans who may face barriers to employment due to systemic inequalities.

7. Education Funding Changes – Some states have proposed changes to education funding formulas or voucher programs that critics argue could exacerbate funding disparities between predominantly black and predominantly white schools, further disadvantaging black students.

8. “Right to Work” Laws – Several states have enacted “right to work” laws, which weaken labor unions and bargaining power for workers. Critics argue that these laws disproportionately harm black workers, who are more likely to be employed in industries with union representation.

9. Restrictions on Affirmative Action – Some states have passed or proposed bans on affirmative action policies in education and employment, which critics argue undermine efforts to address historical and systemic inequalities faced by black Americans.

10. Restrictions on Public Assistance – Some states have implemented or proposed restrictions on public assistance programs, such as drug testing or lifetime limits on benefits, which critics argue disproportionately affect black Americans who are overrepresented among low-income populations.

The majority of Black people live in South. Therefore, they have a front row seat to Republicans and their policies on the STATE level, and how they go out of their way to attempt to harm the Black community. NOBODY can tell Black people anything about how harmful the GOP is.. for a majority of the Black population, they live it everyday.
Which makes who is in charge of the FEDERAL lever of power all that more important. Because, they understand that the only way, sometimes, to stop the GOP on the State Level, is with FEDERAL POWER’s assistance.
