Umami Miso Eggplant | snapshotsincursive

What’s Cooking in Gail’s Kitchen? Time To Eat: Umami Miso Eggplant! For those who wonder, miso paste is used a lot in Japanese cooking. It tends to fall in the category of a concentrated salty soy sauce with hints of tanginess. Some even consider that umami punch quite savory. When in doubt, go easy and start with a small quantity until you receive a more balanced taste. The last thing you want is to have it overpower the other ingredients.

Mein Terrassengarten blüht / … My terrace garden is flowering – Stella, oh, Stella

… Who says that a garden in containers cannot be beautiful? Nobody, I guess.

… The unchallenged star of the collection is my now 24 years old Japanese azalea, with which the movers have been very careful. Its blue sister is in bad shape since last October, when the storm knocked it over and catapulted it our of its pot.

… A layer baby, three years old, it has a long way to go 😉

Meine violette Königskerze … My purple mullein

… The only iris that flowers this year. They don’t like to be moved, so I didn’t really expect any flowers.

… My red peony, three years old; it had sown itself among my rhododendrons. Maybe it will later sow itself on into the other containers (or I help a bit 😉 ).

Mit einem einzigen weissen Streifen …
… With one single white stripe …

I bought two rather unusual petunias, the red one even has fragrance. We have put them up at the corner of the shed’s overhanging roof, as one can easily hit one’s head there: The pointed edge is just above eye level.

… With a group photo I bid you goodbye, see you soon.

… My little larch is also 22 years old now. It had sown itself in one of the azalea pots. Last year I had planned to bed it out; I am so glad that I didn’t do it.

Hier streunen keine Katzen!

… Insects: We have bumblebees and bees, and – I believe – hornets. A few days ago, a ca. 4 cm long monster buzzed past me. My husband also saw it. I presume that was the queen. We have seen some butterflies (white ones). As far as birds are concerned, I have mainly seen (and heard) blackbirds and wood pigeons. There aren’t any roaming cats around!

Biodiversidad ¿Cuáles son las principales amenazas? – Stigmatis News
