What’s The Definition of Insanity? – Belladonna’s Flashlight

The definition of Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.

So, let’s be done with doing insane things!

It’s not that easy, though, right?

Well, maybe it could be if we wanted it to be. I mean, think about it. When we taste something that doesn’t agree with our pallet, we are quick to toss it to the side and never think about eating it again. A perfect example is oatmeal; I’ve had so many clients who were at least 50 pounds overweight and were told to be on a low-cholesterol diet. And OATMEAL was at the top of the list to eat for breakfast.

However, the first thing I heard was, “I hate the texture and can’t bring myself to eat it.” It’s a real struggle, I know. It’s not easy to change our eating habits, especially when it comes to foods we don’t enjoy.

Yet, they continue to consume things that please their palate but harm their health, and just like that, their taste buds triumph!

The texture of the oatmeal was enough to deter them from doing something that would be considered insane, so they gave oatmeal a resounding thumbs down and walked away.

But what if we could change our perception of it?

Imagine adopting a lifestyle that could transform your life into the one you’ve always dreamed of. Picture yourself looking and feeling like a healthy King or Queen (as you rightfully should). And that definitely can be within your grasp.

All we have to do is say Yes to the things that we can sustain for the rest of our lives and STOP practicing INSANE behaviors.

Remember, being healthy is a choice we make every day, and it’s crucial to ask yourself, am I living out the definition of Insanity?

You could have chosen any blog to read, but you chose mine, and I’m honored!

Panama prepares to evacuate first island in face of rising sea levels | RNZ News

On a tiny island off Panama’s Caribbean coast, about 300 families are packing their belongings in preparation for a dramatic change.

Generations of Gunas who have grown up on Gardi Sugdub in a life dedicated to the sea and tourism will trade that next week for the mainland’s solid ground.

They go voluntarily – sort of.

The Gunas of Gardi Sugdub are the first of 63 communities along Panama’s Caribbean and Pacific coasts that government officials and scientists expect to be forced to relocate by rising sea levels in the coming decades.

On a recent day, the island’s Indigenous residents rowed or sputtered off with outboard motors to fish.

Children, some in uniforms and others in the colourful local textiles called “molas”, chattered as they hustled through the warren of narrow dirt streets on their way to school.

“We’re a little sad, because we’re going to leave behind the homes we’ve known all our lives, the relationship with the sea, where we fish, where we bathe and where the tourists come, but the sea is sinking the island little by little,” said Nadín Morales, 24, who prepared to move with her mother, uncle and boyfriend.

Predictive blood test hailed as ‘incredibly exciting’ breast cancer breakthrough | Breast cancer | The Guardian

The test detects minuscule amounts of cancer DNA in the bloodstream. Trial results show it is so sensitive that it can accurately predict the risk of cancer coming back, months or even years before the usual signs or symptoms start to emerge.

Researchers at the Breast Cancer Now Toby Robins research centre in London were able to identify every patient in the trial who later went on to relapse. The average time to relapse was 15 months; the longest 41 months.

“Early detection is one of our greatest weapons against breast cancer and these initial findings, which suggest tests could be able to detect signs of breast cancer recurrence over a year before symptoms emerge, are incredibly exciting,” said Simon Vincent, director of research at Breast Cancer Now, which helped fund the trial.
