HEILUNG
IST
HIER ~ JETZT
✨✨✨

Wir heilen alle gemeinsam!

DANKE dem ALL-EINEN …

In LIEBE
Elke

The Apple Tree|درخت سیب – A Voice from Iran

Once upon a time;

There was an apple tree and a little boy.

The little boy of our story always played under that apple tree and talked to it like a best friend. He climbed the apple tree sometimes to pick apples, lay down its shade, and made beautiful memories.

The little boy grew up, and he had no time to do all those childish plays with the apple tree.

One day the apple tree said to the boy: “Come and play with me.”

The boy replied: “I don’t like to play anymore. I have more important things to think of, I need many kinds of stuff for my life, and I don’t have money for it.”

The apple tree said: “You can sell my apples and buy what you need with the money.”

The boy liked the idea and picked all the apples sold them and bought everything he needed. After that, the apple tree waited for the boy to visit, but the boy only stopped by when it was the season of picking apples.

A long time passed and the boy visited the apple tree.

“Why are you so sad? Come and sit under my shade. Let’s talk like the old days.” The apple tree asked.

The boy replied: “I need money, and your apples won’t cover the price anymore.”

The apple tree said: “Cut my branches and sell them to the woodcarver. He will pay you good money for that.”

The boy got happy and cut all the apple tree’s branches. The apple tree stood bare and alone.

A long time passed again, and the boy came back and said: “I have to leave here forever, and I need a boat.”

The apple tree said: “You can make a boat with my trunk.”

The boy cut the apple tree, made a boat, and left.

Many years passed, and the boy came to the apple tree, old, sad, and tired.

The apple tree said: “I don’t have any apples, branches, or trunk to give you. I can’t even offer you any shade.”

The boy said: “I am tired of my acts. I just need to be beside you in my last days of life. The only thing that I can say is: “It is too late for me to regret all the things I did to you and all my loved ones.”

July 4, 2024: Democracy on the Brink | Diane Ravitch’s blog

I am a patriot. Still I believe in the promise of America and the importance of democracy. I know the disappointments and betrayals of the American Dream, yet still I am devoted to it.

That’s why it is so sickening to see Donald Trump, a man without principle, character or ethics, running for President. It is sickening to see a man so selfish and narcissistic wrap himself in the American flag. It is sickening to see a man who professes admiration, even love, for the world’s worst tyrants, running for President as his best hope for avoiding prison. And it is even more sickening to know that millions of people believe his lies.

In addition, there is the threat posed by a rogue Supreme Court. Six radical Republicans are making mincemeat of our Constitution. In their confirmation hearings, they pledged to uphold precedent and stare decisisis, but now in lifetime positions, they shred women’s rights, limit the power of government to protect public safety, and eviscerate the basic principle of the Constitution that “no one is above the law.” It turns out that the President is above the law. According to the six radical Justices, he may imprison or assassinate his political rivals as part of his “official duties.” It can’t happen here, we like to think, but we are on the cusp of losing what we treasure.

This is not a happy Fourth of July. The threats to democracy are clear, present and ominous. It’s up to us to save it by voting and getting our family, friends, and neighbors to vote in November.

Here’s hoping we can celebrate a new burst of freedom and the rule of law in 2025.

Hurricane Beryl devastates St Elizabeth and Manchester | News | Jamaica Gleaner

Member of Parliament for Southwest St Elizabeth, Floyd Green described the situation as “complete devastation”, noting that a number of people have lost their homes.

Further, he said a significant number of people in all communities across the constituency, from Treasure Beach to Barbary Hall, have reported losing their roofs.

“From all the reports I have received we have taken a most devastating blow in St Elizabeth from Hurricane Beryl. Significant numbers of roofs being lost, houses destroyed, trees uprooted, light poles downed, almost all roads are impassable. Going to be an extremely long night,” he posted to social media platform X late Wednesday.

[Saint Elizabeth, one of Jamaica’s largest parishes, is located in the southwest of the island, in the county of Cornwall. Its capital, Black River, is located at the mouth of the Black River, the widest on the island.]

Happy 4th of July! US Supreme Court Is Moving US Democracy Towards Autocracy. – Gronda Morin

Dear Readers, Let’s not let this 4th of July, US “Independence Day” be the last time our nation celebrates being a democracy.

July 1, 2024, a day that’ll go down in infamy, for it’s on this day when the US Constitution was trampled by the US Supreme Court’s six conservative justices. They granted any US president immunity from legal consequences for committing illegal acts while remotely acting in his/ her official presidential capacity. He can now act as king, a concept that was openly rejected by the US founding fathers and the authors of the US Constitution.
