Scotland’s freedom could be won by teenagers – UPI.com

In March 2013, Scottish law was changed to allow 16 and 17 year olds to vote in Thursday’s referendum for Scottish independence. The separatist Scottish National Party pushed for the change because, according to NBC News “younger voters are more inclined to vote with their hearts, not their heads — and embrace radical change by voting for the pro-independence Yes Scotland campaign.

“I think it will be a great thing to remember,” says 16-year-old Katie Cowan.

“If we get independence … to look back on that and know that we took part in it.”

“I was a bit nervous but it feels really good,” adds Scottish teen Lauren Forde.

“It’s our future and we should be allowed to have a say in it. It is going to be a bit weird in school tomorrow after the results, though.”

“There were things happening, in terms of Latinos – or things not happening – that really had me worried. There was a great deal of discrimination at the time.” Rosie told La Prensa. “I really got involved in Politics when I was at Our Lady of the Lake, and I haven’t stopped since then.”

No Time To See The Doctor? Try A Virtual Visit – Capsules – The KHN Blog

Ingrid Antall, a family practice doctor in Thousand Oaks, Calif., who is already part of LiveHealth’s network, said she can often assess what is wrong with patients with colds and minor infections by talking to them and seeing them over the phone or computer.

Antall said she relies heavily on patients’ explanation of their symptoms and guides them through a self-exam, sometimes using flashlights or cell phone lights. “It causes me to be a little more creative,” she said.

She acknowledged that the visits have limitations. “If they really need to be seen in person, I have no hesitation in sending them,” she said.

Queen’s radical plan for voters to think before voting ruled ‘unconstitutional’ | Pride’s Purge

“The UK has a long and proud tradition of not thinking about anything at all when it comes to voting. In fact not thinking before voting is one of the cornerstones of what has made Great Britain the country it is today and a massive change like that would be unprecedented. Such radical action would lead to all kinds of unforeseen problems and could tear apart the very fabric of British society.”

The controversy comes just weeks after the Home secretary Theresa May announced government plans to make Critical Thinking a class C drug.
