Broken hearts and getting away with murder #TamirRice #DCprotest #pray

I understand Stan’s questioning and I wonder too, if I have seen so many struck down, that if I began to cry – I’d never stop and would be unable to help right the hearts gone cold or turned to stone?

Broken hearts and getting away with murder

Tamir Rice

It has been said that when evil, immorality and self-serving license prevails in the world, the human heart will grow cold. That our compassion, empathy and desire to be a comfort and help to others shall be greatly diminished. I wonder if these are those times.

I wonder now if my own heart has grown cold.

Because I watched surveillance video footage that provided a view of the murder of a 12 year old child and I did not weep.

I understood it was a true horror that I was watching. I felt deep sympathy for Tamir Rice’s parents, but what I felt did not go deep enough. An awkward sound escaped my mouth but I should have sobbed. And I knew the fault must be mine. That my heart was growing cold.

Tory council tried to ‘auction off’ disabled man online to private care companies

Soylent Green invented by Tories!

Pride's Purge

(not satire – it’s the Tories!)

Emma Knight found her local Tory-run council was inviting companies to bid online to look after her 45-year-old brother James after the residential care home he was in was closed because the council claimed it was too expensive.

After making him homeless, Devon County Council then listed James – who suffered brain damage at birth – on a website available to all care companies across the county to invite them to make bids to accommodate him:

Disabled man ‘put up for auction’ on care website

Auctioning off disabled people is not a warning sign of things to come.

It’s a sign of the sorry state we’ve already allowed our once great nation to become.

Mothers tell Nigel Farage not to be ‘openly ostentatious’ when being a tit in public

Looking for 10 foot pole that he can stick where the sun does not shine

Pride's Purge

(satire?)

Breastfeeding mothers have said that Nigel Farage should “sit in a corner” rather than openly display his b*ll*cks in an “ostentatious” way.

The women said some people feel “very uncomfortable” and “embarrassed” about seeing a political leader obviously being a tit in public.

The nursing mothers’ comments come not long after the UKIP leader was reportedly given a large napkin to cover his infantile twaddle while feeding his prejudice in an interview today.

When asked if Farage should perhaps sit in a toilet to avoid causing offence to normal people if he wants to feed his chauvinism in public places, one mum came up with another solution:

Why doesn’t he just go f*ck himself,” she said.

I met Jesus today

Poetry for Palestine

By Nahida the exiled Palestinian

I met Jesus today

His name was Palestinian

Issa… Jesus he was called

On the altar of “chosen-ness” he was crucified

Time and time and time again

*****

His face was Palestinian

Olive, with a hint of agony

Yet

Years of torture fail to conceal the glow

The purity of his soul peeks through

The sparkle in his eyes invites you to dive in

*****

His pain was Palestinian

The colour of his words

Grips your guts

And squeeze… squeeze … squeeze

Until you lose consciousness

You fall on your knees

Begging for forgiveness

*****

His faith was Palestinian

“Their sadism too much to bear

In the street I waited for a car

No way out but to kill myself

Twilight hour the fall of night

The call to prayer woken my heart

Healing balsam caressed my soul

Maybe…. In this life… still…there is something…
