Scientific study reveals up to 95% of Tory DNA is Neanderthal

Neanderthal Anti-Defamation League is lodging a protest about being compared to Tory members. Suggest that pond scum would also protest but that Venutians would be fine with it…

Pride's Purge

(satire)

According to scientists who have compared the genetic make-up of humans with that of our closest ancient relativeslarge amounts of modern-day Tory DNA is Neanderthal, reaching up to 95% in the case of some activists.

Anthropologists have long speculated that the strong primitive and neanderthal traits displayed by modern Conservatives are the result of a much higher concentration of Neanderthal DNA than in the rest of the population but this latest study provides the strongest evidence so far that the modern-day Tory is indeed the direct ancestor of the primitive Neanderthal.

Small, pioneering groups of modern humans began to leave Africa 80,000 years ago and eventually reached areas with strong concentrations of Neanderthals such as Surrey and Buckinghamshirewhere the two primitive humanoids lived alongside each other in small groups and interbred.

As a result, the latest research indicates strongly that our Neanderthal close ancestors do indeed…

‘Non’- Romantic Sectarianism

Nervana

If your Lord had pleased, surely all those who are on the earth would have believed, all of them; will you then force men till they become believers?

Beni Suef– A story of romance has turned ugly and led to eruption of another round of sectarianism in Egypt. Rana El-Shazli, a 21-year-old Egyptian Muslim woman, is believed to have converted to Christianity and fled to Turkey with a Coptic Christian man.

Although interfaith relationships are common across the globe, it is a taboo in Egypt, conversion to and from Islam is always a tricky, sensitive topic in Egypt; however, in the current tense atmosphere, the situation has turned into a tragic story of exploitation. Angry Islamists attacked St George Church in Beni Suef, occasionally with Molotov cocktails, and forced Christians to close their shops for nearly eight days last month. Members of…

Scientists Succeed in Growing Balls on Liberal Democrats in Laboratory

Pride's Purge

(satire – probably)

Liberal Democrats may in future be able to have their missing balls or backbones replaced with ones grown from cells taken from chickens or mice, experts have predicted.

Scientists say hybrids of mouse or chicken stem cells – both of which are remarkably similar in structure to those extracted from Liberal Democrat cabinet ministers – raises the possibility of growing missing teeth, backbones and balls on junior coalition MPs’ bodies.

Several pairs of fully functioning balls – created by combining stem cells taken from mice and Vince Cable well before he sold himself out for a seat in the cabinet – have been grown in a laboratory by researchers who hope the work could lead to Liberal Democrat MPs being able to grow back other things they lack – such as scruples or guts – and in the future it may even be possible to provide them…

UKIP candidate – physical exercise prevents homosexuality (no – not satire)

Send him back to age he thinks he came from – does not fit here!

Pride's Purge

(not satire – it’s UKIP!)

It’s getting even more difficult than usual to be satirical now that UKIP have got such a ripe bunch of fruitcakes standing for them in the local elections next week.

I’m a bit spoilt for choice when it comes to choosing a good example of UKIP’s most rabidly loony candidates but I’ve decided to pick John Sullivan – many thanks to Gay Star News for the heads up on this one.

John Sullivan – UKIP candidate in the Forest of Dean and West Gloucestershire county council elections – says that more rigorous physical exercise in schools will prevent homosexuality.

Here’s his Facebook post where he makes the comment:

John Sullivan UKIP homosexualityIf I didn’t know he was for real, I would have thought Sullivan was a satirist doing a great impression of a blustering, pigheaded Colonel Blimp type caricature.

But he’s not. He’s for real.

For more on Mr Sullivan’s…

Celebrating Service: Through cancer diagnosis, realizing how service prepared me for life’s challenges

A Lifetime Of Service

Sarah guyToday’s post originally appeared on YSA blog on May 3, 2012.

While gearing up for Global Youth Service Day, the annual celebration of service, I spent some time reflecting on service and realized that I had new and significant reasons to celebrate service this year.  In March 2011, a little over one year ago, I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer.  When I received this shocking diagnosis from my oncologist, my mind immediately began racing, franticly looking for answers, a plan, calmness, something familiar and comprehensible to cling on to.  I began asking myself, “What can I do, starting today, to overcome this situation?  What can I do to restore my health?”  During the days following my diagnosis, I thought about times in my life when I succeeded, “What did I do in those situations to succeed?   How can I apply those lessons to overcome this…
