OK – so let’s see if I’ve the hang of this Nigel Farage in Scotland story.

An anti-immigrant English nationalist is berating anti-English nationalists in Scotland for berating what they see as an English immigrant trying to immigrate anti-immigrant English nationalist policies into Scotland?

Is that right?

If it is, I’m not sure this is so much a case of satire dying as it having to lie down in a dark room with a nasty headache for a while.

What Lebanese Christians Are Not Entitled To

Entitlement. The word thrown around so loosely lately it’s become the go-to term in Lebanese politics, especially when it comes to Christians and their – forgive me, our – rights.

As such, I have decided to make a list of things Lebanese Christians think are entitled to but are not:

  • We are not entitled to vote for our half of parliament all by ourselves.
  • We are not entitled to have laws that govern us and only us.
  • We are not entitled to legislate in ways that only benefit us and pretend it’s for the common good of all.
  • We are not entitled to vote for an MP solely because he Crosses himself when he “prays.”
  • We are not entitled to play victims all the time, at every single turn.
  • We are not entitled to blame the Sunnis and only the Sunnis for our predicament in the country.

    On January 1, 2008, after a very difficult time in my life, I woke up and made a promise to myself that I would find a way to change the world for the better.  Of course, this is an overwhelming goal if you look at all the world’s problems but if you can identify one problem at a time, like any other task, it becomes possible.

    For me, working in corporate America, specifically for a retailer whose main goal was to produce more “stuff”, I began to realize that I had stopped listening to that little voice inside me that had always looked to nature for comfort.  I began my search for opportunities at one of the places I would go as a child to connect with animals, my local zoo.
