“If you’re blessed enough to grow older, there’s so much wisdom to be gained from celebrating the process with vibrancy and vigor and grace.” -Oprah

How old are you? Or, how OLD are you?

When I think about my current age, an age I have never been before and an age I will never be again, I count my greatest joys and blessings, even in the midst of joyless times. Each step of my journey in this present moment is an opportunity to live, learn more, and grow greater in celebrating a brand new step of experiences yet to be explored.

Yep, I have a few more aches than before, yet that does not stop me from moving, going, and growing. Yep, my eyesight may not be as strong as it once was, but I can still see and experience life that flourishes all around me. Yep, I face more heartaches and heartbreaks than I have in the past, especially with the loss of loved ones, but I hold their memories upward, toward the Northern Star, by living a life that helps to uplift others positively and optimistically, based on the sacrifices they made.

Genealogical trees are generations of families encompassing people who teach and pass on the torch of growing, developing, empowering, loving, and compassionate embracing. I am now my parents’ generation, and albeit scary at times, it is a position I take pride in. Getting older isn’t about dying, but planting the seeds about living and showing others how to treat their brothers and sisters in humanity, taking care of and protecting our creatures of creation, by nurturing strength of spirit to be the stewards we were created to be.

Today is a new day, and a new opportunity to take advantage of living your best life on this new journey. I plan to use this time as wisely as I can because I am not out for the count yet! What about you?

FACT SHEET: President Biden Announces Bold Plan to Reform the Supreme Court and Ensure No President Is Above the Law | The White House

  1. No Immunity for Crimes a Former President Committed in Office: President Biden shares the Founders’ belief that the President’s power is limited—not absolute—and must ultimately reside with the people. He is calling for a constitutional amendment that makes clear no President is above the law or immune from prosecution for crimes committed while in office. This No One Is Above the Law Amendment will state that the Constitution does not confer any immunity from federal criminal indictment, trial, conviction, or sentencing by virtue of previously serving as President.
  1. Term Limits for Supreme Court Justices: Congress approved term limits for the Presidency over 75 years ago, and President Biden believes they should do the same for the Supreme Court. The United States is the only major constitutional democracy that gives lifetime seats to its high court Justices. Term limits would help ensure that the Court’s membership changes with some regularity; make timing for Court nominations more predictable and less arbitrary; and reduce the chance that any single Presidency imposes undue influence for generations to come. President Biden supports a system in which the President would appoint a Justice every two years to spend eighteen years in active service on the Supreme Court.
  1. Binding Code of Conduct for the Supreme Court: President Biden believes that Congress should pass binding, enforceable conduct and ethics rules that require Justices to disclose gifts, refrain from public political activity, and recuse themselves from cases in which they or their spouses have financial or other conflicts of interest. Supreme Court Justices should not be exempt from the enforceable code of conduct that applies to every other federal judge.

Camp Polk, LA and the Louisiana Maneuvers | Pacific Paratrooper

It took 22 trains and one week to transport the proud and cocky division to Camp Polk in the west-central area of Louisiana.  This was the home of the armored forces and it would not take long for the two units to clash.  But first, the 11th A/B planned to enjoy the improved living conditions and the 3.2 beer.  They found time to “hit the town” and often it was a place called “Scotty’s,” just outside of Southern Pines.

The tank units, who called Camp Polk their home, did not take kindly to the new finely tuned troopers who were in the best shape of their lives (and they knew it!).  The 11th A/B  would often “unboot” the tankers when they were in town, forcing them to return to base barefoot and find their footwear neatly lined up in their barracks…
