Seeking Validation is Overrated – Belladonna’s Flashlight

You’ll continuously come up short if validation from others is what you desire.

People already have a preconceived notion of who you are before you even open your mouth. Maybe you are too skinny, too tall, too light, too dark, too short, or Lord forbid you’re not driving a $200,000 car. Because you know that’s in everyone’s budget.

When you go through some rough patches in life, you begin to realize the beauty that you took for granted. And the foolishness that you worried about seems so small insignificant.

Because we are human, we care what others think about us, and that’s okay. More importantly, we need to be available for criticism. When we accept that we aren’t perfect, we can take a look deep within and fix it.

HOWEVER, hanging on to someone’s arm and crying for validation is unacceptable. It’s one thing to care about what others think, but it’s a whole other nightmare to depend on their acceptance and constant feed back.

You are who you are, and the main thing is feeling good in your skin.

When you wake up and look in the mirror, you should LOVE the person you see. Yes, your hair may look a mess, crust just might be in your eyes, but that shouldn’t prevent you from seeing the beautiful person you are. Start validating yourself; when you do this, others’ validation will no longer be needed; it’ll just be extra.

How to validate yourself

Begin to recognize and verbalize all of the positive things about yourself. It’s a good idea to make a list of everything you love, then take that list and put it where you can see it every day. Look at it, soak all the positive vibes up on your not-so-good days and add to it on your good days.

Put yourself on your main list and make sure you constantly show up for yourself and improve your health, circle of friends, household, and finances.

Most importantly, stop seeking validation from others and start feeling good in your skin! When you feel good, you look good, and your vibe will attract a positive tribe .

I’m the coffee in your veins – Belladonna’s Flashlight

Waking up in the morning, my mind goes straight to coffee.

Not because I need the caffeine,

Nae Nae

I long for the smooth, warm feel rushing through my body. Making every inch of me feel soothed and alive.

When my clock strikes 9:00am, my coffee is brewing, and my smile is plastered on my face. Oh, the joy! Nothing else matters to me, and the only thing that exists in the world is me and my warm cup of coffee. When my cup is filled to the top, I add a little cream and gently stir my cup. I then sit in my favorite chair, drape a soft blanket over my lap, close my eyes, and take my first sip.

AWWWWWWW God is good!

Before I know it, my cup is empty, and my alert level is on 10. I don’t know if it’s all mental, and I don’t care because that feeling feeds my veins. My positivity level has reached its highest stage. At this point, I’m ready for 32 ounces of water and gearing to take charge of my day.

Now I know, I know, I know that coffee may not be your thing, in fact, many of my clients despise coffee, but they don’t need it.

Because……..

I’m the joy they need,

Their motivation out of a cup

A little cream to their imaginary coffee

I steer them towards positive vibes

Positive life

Positive mindset

Always helping them to develop good habits

Shaking them awake with a warm, yet stern hand

I am all they need

I am the coffee in their veins!

♫ Everything I Own ♫ (Redux) | Filosofa’s Word

Last time ’round I only played the Bread version, but I like to think I’m more flexible now and so, I offer both Bread and Boy George this time!  In truth, I didn’t dislike the Boy George version … I just like Bread’s better.  Last time I played this, rawgod wondered why I hadn’t also included the Ken Booth version, and I promised to do so next time I played it, so I have included it here.
