Putting a stop to Israeli plans to extend its sovereignty to parts of Judea and Samaria was a precondition of normalization, United Arab Emirates Foreign Ministry Director of Policy Planning Jamal al-Musharakh said on Tuesday. “One of the prerequisites of the commencing of bilateral relations was the halting of annexation,” al-Musharakh said, and the UAE has “assurances from key leaders in the US and Israel” on the matter.
