Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman has dreams for a $700 billion megacity. This woman wants to stop him – ABC News

A woman in a tan leather jacket She says she receives almost daily death threats and intimidating messages, which she believes are from individuals aligned with the Saudi Government.

They’re in Arabic, but she shared some of them to the ABC.

“One day we will come and we will cut you up piece by piece,” reads one.

“We are going to throw acid in your face,” says another and “you are a non-Muslim and you should be killed”.

Alya recounts how some threats urge her not to trust her friends as they could instead be the enemy.

She knows they’re designed not only to scare her, but to make her paranoid.

She refuses to succumb.

“I knew when I chose this path there would be sacrifices,” she said.

After sustained intimidation for her social media posts and strong views on human rights, Alya left the embassy and cut her ties to Saudi Arabia in 2019.

She is now advocating on behalf of her traditional Saudi tribe, the Al-Huwaitat people, who have lived along the Red Sea coastline for hundreds of years.

Advertising for the city says it will have flying drone taxis, a Jurassic Park-like island, they’ll be an artificial moon, glow in the dark beaches and it will have more Michelin star restaurants per capita than in any other city in the world.

And the propaganda says it’s being built on “virgin” land.

But the Al-Huwaitat people dispute that and say they have lived in the area for centuries.

Alya says her tribespeople are being threatened, harassed and forcibly removed from their homes.

She began to speak out after the alleged murder of Abdul Rahim al-Huwati, a village leader who refused to move and spoke out against the project.

“This is my duty for the people. They’re asking for help and that is why I became involved and I’ll try to do my best to find the justice for the people of Neom,” she said.

Ethiopia accuses Trump of inciting ′war′ over Nile dam | News | DW | 24.10.2020 (loose lips/tweets could start a war)

Ethiopia demanded Saturday that the US “clarify” remarks by President Donald Trump in which he said Egypt may try to “blow up” the controversial Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam currently under construction in the East African country.

Ethiopian Foreign Minister Gedu Andargachew summoned US Ambassador Mike Raynor to demand an explanation, according to a statement from the ministry.

“The incitement of war between Ethiopia and Egypt from a sitting US president neither reflects the long-standing partnership and strategic alliance between Ethiopia and the United States nor is acceptable in international law governing interstate relations,” read the statement.

Trump made the comments on Friday during a ceremony marking normalizing relations between Israel and Sudan. The new dam is being built just 15 km (9 miles) east of Ethiopia’s border with Sudan.

“It’s a very dangerous situation because Egypt is not going to be able to live that way,” Trump told reporters in the White House.

Colour code

Peakspeak

Colours are supposed to be fun, perhaps God created colours to entertain us, make us feel good with abundant variety around us.But the manner in which human race has demonized skin colour is unfathomable. This is as lame as a Cedar tree telling a Banana tree – “Oh! Your leaves skin colour is so light and beautiful!!”it doesn’t work this way…..the diversified flora and fauna is created to relish each one’s uniqueness and not to look down upon the others. The biosphere works on very simple rule of balance and it has enough place for everyone and everything except greed.Unfortunately, human race has been totally taken over by lust, greed and ego which is not only leading to anger and dissatisfaction within them but to everyone around them.

Even in the so very advanced 21st century and from the world’s most civilised and developed societies we seem to have totally misunderstood colour,so…

What Is the Realistic Value of a Language?

Foundation Operation X for Languages, Cultures and Perspectives

Written by Dyami Millarson

The question of a language’s value is relevant to language preservation. Language has made humans more evolutionarily succesful than any other species on planet Earth. When I think about language deeply and observe what it does, I see it as a system that is mimicking observed reality. Language is a parallel reality of sorts. It took me many years of experience with language-learning to grasp this profound yet simple truth. Language is a simulation of reality, and therefore words are the building blocks of this simulated reality.

Humans gained an evolutionary advantaged by creating their own parallel reality based on the immediately observed reality, and that is also why I think humans gained the mysterious ability of abstraction and imagination. In my view, these are merely an extension of the nature of language: fiction is the product of human beings’ ability to mimick reality by using…
