Nina Simone – VEM comigo! Birds flying high, you know how I feel

”Birds flying high, you know how I feel

Sun in the sky, you know how I feel

Breeze passing, you know how I feel.

It’s a new dawn

It’s a new day

For me

And I feel good… ”

Some believe that the healthcare system has already collapsed, as in some regions teenagers have been recruited to aid doctors and nurses. Considering that the population is 10 million, the rate of infection among healthcare workers is very high.

What is this life??

Life is a wonder to be loved and learned from each day.

Unlocking The Hidden Me

#poetry #life

What is this life

Full of magic and hidden surprise

Sometimes it gives you reason to smile

And sometimes just to sit back and wonder why?

What is this life

Full of happiness to hold amid momentary gains

Too many roads to travel and opportunities to unravel

But which road to choose is the real game.

What is this life

Full of loved ones around you

Making you feel blessed and sane

Literally giving you a jibe when you start to succeed beyond their domains

What is this life

Testing your temperament at each step

Whether you will survive or go astray

Lucky you are, if you happen to realize

What is this life

Full of nature and beauty to admire

For some to accomplish a thousand desires

And for some to just repent what they lost and couldn’t acquire

What is this life

It’s anything but…

A record number of new Texas voters are making the state more competitive | The Texas Tribune

Four big blue cities: The counties that are home to Texas’ four biggest cities — Houston’s Harris County, San Antonio’s Bexar County, Dallas County and Austin’s Travis County — are generally considered reliably Democrat. In 2016, Hillary Clinton defeated Trump in these counties, 57.4% to 37.6%. These areas are also adding the most new voters. Since 2016, they saw an increase of 630,796 registered voters, according to data collected by the Texas secretary of state.

Six fast-changing counties: Just outside those big cities are the fast-changing suburbs. Over the past several election cycles, these areas of the state have been slipping away from Republicans’ grip. In 2016, Fort Bend County flipped blue. In 2018, Williamson and Hays voted Democrat. Collin County and Denton County have remained red — but some believe they may be in play for Democrats in 2020.

* New Updates * Lockdown from Covid-19: From an Expat's Point of View

MiddleMe

Hey! How’s everyone? It has been two months from my last update on this post and there have been some major new stuff going on in my life in Malaysia and I like to share with all of you.

Back to Square One Again

First up, yes we are back in lockdown again. Less restricted than the last one we were in but they have taken away swimming and schools. I won’t go into why the number started spiking in Malaysia. I don’t want to get into a silly political argument. If you like to know, you probably can google for it. So now, everyone is mostly staying at home, keep themselves safe and trying to cope with the 3rd wave of this pandemic.

However, it is less intense than the last lockdown. Probably because expectations are set and there are no nasty surprises. Malaysia has done so well keeping…

‘It’s scary’: St. Luke’s respiratory therapist details working inside a COVID-19 unit | ktvb.com

Inside Idaho hospitals, frontline healthcare workers continue to battle the tough circumstances brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic as case numbers continue to rise.

“The cases have doubled that I’ve seen, even more so than doubled now with these 900 or 1,000 new cases a day. Even though it’s not in Ada County, that doesn’t mean it’s not going to trickle to our hospital,” Roberts said. “I am very concerned that we will see this lag of numbers that will turn into hospitalizations so it’s extremely concerning.”

For a while, operations at St. Luke’s in Boise were very manageable, but there is now concern as conditions are starting to change.

“It’s scary,” Roberts said. “You’ve got to keep an eye on them and just watch and make sure that whatever turn they make you’re ready to help them through it and give them the best possible care that you can.”

Because of the extensive personal protective equipment (PPE) worn by hospital staff, Roberts is personally comfortable working with COVID-19 patients. However, there is still a great risk posed to medical workers.

“My biggest worry is that I will take it home to my family,” Roberts said.

Roberts sees every day just how serious contracting COVID-19 can be.

“For some people, it’s just that shortness of breath. They walk to the bathroom and they are so short of breath that they just have to stop and wait or they are on that verge of having to have a tube down their throat and be put on a ventilator,” Roberts said. “It’s very concerning because you don’t know what direction that patient may turn on you.”

Republican Senate Candidates Are Chickening Out of Their Debates From Maine to Mississippi

Republican senatorial candidates are growing feathers and clucking very loudly. In Louisiana, incumbent Bill Cassidy has simply refused to debate Democratic candidate Adrian Perkins, the mayor of Shreveport. In Mississippi, incumbent Cindy Hyde-Smith, noted Virgil Kaine cosplayer, is likely going to be successful in her quest to duck Mike Espy and, most spectacular of all, in Alabama, football meathead Tommy Tuberville has taken a dive against incumbent Democratic senator Doug Jones.

Having been left for dead by Democratic challenger Jon Ossoff in their last encounter, which produced a haymaker that will live forever in political lore, incumbent Republican David Perdue of Georgia has bailed on their last scheduled encounter.
