L’OR n’est rien de plus que de la poussière brillante dans la boue, mais les Blancs peuvent tuer pour cela!

GOLD is nothing more than shiny dust in the mud, but whites can kill for it!

Freedom in sight for Kavaan, ‘the world’s loneliest elephant’ · Global Voices

Animal rights activists have long highlighted the poor treatment the elephant has received and in 2015 started a campaign to rescue Kavaan from the zoo which was endorsed by pop star Cher. In May 2020, Islamabad High Court ruled in favour of relocating Kavaan from Islamabad to a suitable sanctuary. World’s loneliest elephant In 1985, the Sri Lankan government gifted Kavaan, then a young calf, to Pakistan in an effort to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries. In 1990, Kavaan was joined by a mate named Saheli, who came from Bangladesh. Saheli died in 2012, turning Kavaan into “the loneliest elephant“. He started showing signs of lethargy, stress and later aggression, which led his keepers to chain him.

The leader of a white supremacist group has been arrested after trying to harass a podcaster — but accidentally targeting someone else instead.
The Michigan State Police and the FBI have charged Justen Watkins, the self-proclaimed leader of The Base, and another member of the group, Alfred Gorman, with belonging to a gang and two other charges, according to the Michigan attorney general’s office.
The Base, a neo-Nazi group founded in 2018, advocates for violent rebellion against the United States and the establishment of a white ethno-state. Watkins allegedly ran a “hate camp” for members where they engaged in firearms training. The group’s ideology, like other neo-Nazi groups, includes extreme antisemitism. According to the Detroit Jewish News, the group spray-painted a swastika and the Nazi SS logo on a synagogue in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula in 2019.
The arrest, announced Thursday, comes as officials warn of increasing extremism in the United States ahead of next week’s election. And it comes weeks after a group of men was arrested for plotting to kidnap Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer.
In the December 2019 incident that sparked the arrest, Watkins and Gorman allegedly dressed all in black and took pictures of a family at their home that they then posted on The Base’s channel on the social network Telegram, which is popular with the far right.
They thought the home belonged to Daniel Harper, who hosts an anti-white-supremacism podcast called “I Don’t Speak German.” The Michigan attorney general’s office calls it an “Antifa podcast.”

Jerusalem’s coronavirus frontlines: The fight is for life – The Jerusalem Post

The coronavirus intensive care units at Shaare Zedek and Hadassah University (Ein Kerem) medical centers in Jerusalem are some of the busiest in the country. The capital has seen the highest number of patients since the start of the pandemic, and it is home to the sickest sectors – the Arab and haredi communities.

On Tuesday, the Health Ministry reported that 5.3% of haredim screened for the virus tested positive, and 6.8% of Arabs, compared to 2.1% of the general public. The city continues to have close to 2,000 active cases.

“I think the uniqueness of Hadassah is that it is in the midst of two highly infected populations,” explained Prof. Sigal Sviri, director of one of the hospital’s medical intensive care units and its largest coronavirus intensive care unit.

She said that during the first wave, most of the hospital’s patients were from the haredi areas of Jerusalem. There were hardly any Arab patients. Then, “one of the most surprising phenomena over the summer months was that more Arab patients came in from east Jerusalem. We were one of the first hospitals to realize the increasing infection among this population, which later spread north to the Galilee.” Source: Jerusalem’s coronavirus frontlines: The fight is for life – The Jerusalem Post

Armenia, Azerbaijan trade fresh accusations of Karabakh shelling – The Jerusalem Post

Armenia and Azerbaijan once more accused each other of bombing residential areas on Saturday, in defiance of a pact to avoid the deliberate targeting of civilians in and around the mountain enclave of Nagorno-Karabakh.

Shelling was reported by both sides within hours of the latest agreement to defuse the conflict, reached after talks in Geneva between the two countries’ foreign ministers and envoys from France, Russia and the United States. Ocasio-Cortez responds to Lindsey Graham debate swipe: You folded ‘like a wet napkin’ | TheHill

During Graham’s final debate against his Democratic challenger, Jaime Harrison, the incumbent senator said his rival would go “down the AOC road” on South Carolina’s climate policy, warning it would be devastating to the state’s economy.

Ocasio-Cortez tore into the longtime GOP lawmaker in a tweet Saturday, writing, “I’m not sure you believe in *anything* except preserving yourself. & let’s not get started on your climate denial.”

“I’ve seen a lot of spinelessness in DC, but you’re at the top when it comes to folding on your own values like a wet napkin. SC deserves better,” Ocasio-Cortez added.

US judge delays TikTok ban after influencers sue | News | DW | 31.10.2020

The US government’s push to ban TikTok faced a new legal obstacle on Friday when a federal judge issued a preliminary injunction to postpone the clampdown.

The lawsuit was launched by three US video creators — comedian Douglas Marland, musician Alec Chambers, and fashion designer Cosette Rinab —  each of who can boast over one million followers on the app. The trio argued that the ban would hamper their free speech. Pennsylvania judge Wendy Beetlestone sided with the plaintiffs in her decision, while also noting their concerns over their income and career opportunities.
