FBI Arrests Upstate New Yorker For Allegedly Breaking Into U.S. Capitol Building Using Shield – Gothamist

The FBI has arrested a Rochester man for his alleged involvement in the Capitol Hill insurrection after a video surfaced showing him using a shield to break a window and allow rioters into the U.S. Capitol on January 6th.

Dominic “Spaz” Pezzola, as he’s named in the criminal complaint, has been charged with illegally entering a restricted building, obstruction of an official proceeding and destruction of government property for his alleged role in the Capitol Hill insurrection.

Russia to withdraw all military instructors from the Central African Republic.

The nation needs help, not retreat.

The United Nations has been informed by Russia that this week they are planning to withdraw all 300 military instructors, and transport helicopters from the Central African Republic. The Russian military instructors were sent to the country back in December 2020 to monitor the Presidential election, which was held on December 27th 2020. Many witnesses and aides claimed that these instructors actually went to the front lines to fight off the rebels. Violence has erupted in the country when the ex-President Francois Bozize’s candidacy was declined for the the December 27 election.

The Russians have informed the UN that they will withdraw the troops and helicopters.

Off-duty police were part of the Capitol mob – The Washington Post

at least 13 officers are under investigation for possible participation in the rioting, as well more than a dozen Capitol Police officers who may have assisted the mob that seized the Capitol.

The officers — and at least one police chief — came from tiny departments with less than a handful of officers to large agencies with thousands on their force.

union leaders said they are shocked by how some of their members appeared to cross the line at the Capitol. They also said officers who breached the Capitol should not expect their unions’ support in their legal battles.

“We took an oath to protect the constitution and the rule of law,” said Patrick Yoes, national president of the Fraternal Order of Police. “When people decide they are going to violate that — they are alone.”
