Myanmar Junta Uses Explosives, Killing At Least Two Dozen Protesters

At least 11 civilians were killed and nearly 30 injured during clashes with regime forces near Taze Township in Sagaing Region on Wednesday evening. By Thursday morning, around 612 civilians have been killed by the military junta since the February coup. Using homemade firearms and air guns, residents attempted to prevent seven trucks full of troops from entering the town at around 4pm on Wednesday. Residents claimed the troops were being deployed to crack down on daily anti-regime protests in Taze, which have attracted tens of thousands of people but had not been attacked by the junta’s forces until yesterday.

Texas schools have yet to get any extra federal stimulus money | The Texas Tribune (Me: State government using federal school dollars for itself)

in Texas, local schools have yet to see an extra dime from the more than $19 billion in federal stimulus money given to the state. After Congress passed the first stimulus bill last year, officials used the state’s $1.3 billion education share to fill other holes in the state budget, leaving public schools with few additional resources to pay for the costs of the pandemic.

Now, educators and advocacy groups worry that the state could do the same thing with the remaining $17.9 billion in funding for Texas public schools from the other two stimulus packages. Because of federal requirements, Texas has to invest over $1 billion of the state’s own budget in higher education to receive the third round of stimulus funding for K-12 public schools. Experts said the state has applied for a waiver to avoid sending that added money to higher education, but the process has caused major delays in local districts receiving funds they desperately need.

Where are you?
Why does your spirit call like a dying man?
Why is your candle dim like a light far away?
I can feel your faint breaths.
But this dark blanket does not allow me to find you.

I felt your heart beating a moment ago.
And your fingers brushed through my skin,
Yet you are like a passing wind.
My heart shouts for you,
Please come to me now.

Don’t whisper when my ears are not close.
For the breeze take your words away.
Don’t cry when my hands are far,
I won’t be able to wipe your tears.
Don’t call me when you can come to me.
Come to my embrace, dear love.
My heart will brighten the light in yours

I’ve had enough. My long Covid nightmare continues.

The poor side of life

Dear readers and subscribers, you I get have realised that Ive been pretty much out of action this past week. I apologise for this, I feel awful about it and I hope that it doesn’t happen again.

Ive been struggling to get through this last rebound due to needing more meds and waiting for them to be processed.

I’ll be honest with you, I’m feeling pretty low at the moment. This past year has been a complete nightmare and so far it doesn’t appear to be easing.

My health is pretty rubbish at the moment, it takes me much longer to do tasks that I didn’t used to think about. My daughters more than fed up with me being ill and I do feel like I am to blame for this. Being a single parent is tough when you’re ill.

Yesterday I learnt that the support that I was getting…
