REIGN OF THE DARK — tinythoughtspoetry
Eclectic
The universe takes me on an odyssey in eternity's orbit of a lifetime's prediction. I turn my winter into spring, winging into a rainbow dream, touch push the dark into a golden beam. To hold this moment Forever In a poem... The cosmos wraps me like a bouquet in a turquoise fever where I inhale the ink of a quill spinning across my senses. I search the lines of the aether, touching, embracing an exotic galaxy of torched stars. I illuminate my page feeling the sensations of starlight, a paradise binding my inquisitive soul. I find my home in the silken ink around my fingers spelling my survival. .. In this strategy called life. . I think of metaphors...
The Hippocratic Oath Stops at the Arkansas Border
Invoking “the right of conscience” and “the Hippocratic Oath” this new law permits doctors, pharmacists, hospitals and health insurance companies to refuse to provide or pay for non-emergency care if they feel their “religious, moral, or ethical principles” would be violated.
However, no definition is provided in the law as to what these “principles” can or cannot be.
Since throughout US history some Americans have asserted that their “religious, moral, or ethical principles” justify slavery, subjugation of women, white supremacy, or lynching, the lack of any definitions in the law make it absurdly vague.
Henceforth, in Arkansas, refusing to care for a patient because of one’s “principles” will not be punishable, by loss of hospital “staff privileges,” “refusal of board certification,” “refusal to award any grant,” or “refusal to provide residency training.”
I am a physician who has practiced cancer medicine for over 40 years and a medical school professor who teaches medical ethics and medical history. This law is a rare combination of ignorance of medical history, flagrant disregard of medical ethics, bigotry, and buffoonery.
Japan’s daily COVID-19 cases top 3,000 for 2nd day in row
Japan’s daily cases of the new coronavirus on Thursday topped 3,000 for the second day in a row as fears over the impact of the sharp rebound on the country’s medical system and the economy continue to intensify. Osaka confirmed 905 new cases of the virus, setting an all-time high for the third straight day, as the western Japan prefecture has come under a medical state of emergency. With the number of infections rapidly rebounding in many other parts, not just in and around Osaka and Tokyo, which reported 545 additional cases on the same day, the government is considering expanding areas covered by a quasi-state of emergency to enable local authorities to toughen anti-virus measures.

Chinese Embassy Makes Contact With Myanmar’s Shadow Government
The Chinese Embassy in Myanmar has for the first time spoken with members of a committee representing elected lawmakers from the ousted National League for Democracy (NLD) government, amid Beijing’s repeated calls for all parties in its southern neighbor to seek a political resolution to the current crisis through dialog.
Multiple sources confirmed to The Irrawaddy that a counselor from the embassy in Yangon spoke by phone with members of the Committee Representing Pyidaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) last week. (The Pyidaungsu Hluttaw is Myanmar’s Union Parliament.) Founded by NLD lawmakers following the February coup as a challenge to the legitimacy of the military regime, the CRPH enjoys popular support both domestically and overseas.

Possible New Force | NeuroLogica Blog
Theoretical physicists are now trying to work out what the new particle and/or force might be that could explain these apparent anomalous results. This would then make predictions about how other particles might behave in other experiments, and hopefully eventually we can expand the standard model with new additions. Hopefully existing colliders are powerful enough to do the requisite experiments. If not, we may need to build even bigger ones. Source: Possible New Force | NeuroLogica Blog
