12 Steps to a spiritual awakening

Words from Walden

I hope this series teaches you something about yourself. It helped me re-learn what I already knew, but had escaped me for some time.

After ” Waking up ” my existence was set in a whole new world. I felt like Aladdin peaking at what life inside the kingdom had to offer. The difference was that I was now living in a kingdom of my own creation. After I realized I was not actually dreaming or flying on a magic carpet I started to research and explore exactly what was happening to me and why. What I found were many different books, articles and, posts about the 7, 10, or 12 steps of a spiritual awakening. The most fascinating aspect of these symptomatic steps was that the majority of them had actually happened to me. What I once would have dismissed as ‘Woo-woo’ or ‘Pollyanna’ was no longer just someone…

Purple revolution: India’s farmers turn to lavender to beat drought | Global development | The Guardian

Mean and women pick lavender crops “I started lavender farming in 2010, hesitantly, as an experiment due to the encouragement from the Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine [IIIM] Jammu,” says Bhushan. “It is easy to grow, and does not require much irrigation. I used just cow dung as manure.” In two years he was earning four times more than he had done growing maize.

“Seeing my success, many followed suit and now more than 500 farmers in this area who are part of self-help groups are engaged in this occupation. I have also started two nurseries for propagating lavender saplings. The village has become a lavender producing and distillation hub,” says Bhushan, who has also installed machinery to extract oil from lavender flowers.

“The best part about growing lavender is that many women in villages who are not allowed to work away from home have been encouraged to cultivate lavender around their homes because it is profitable, and this has made them self-reliant,” he says.

“The domestic demand for lavender oil is high, and we sell distilled oil directly to industrial customers in cities in India, like Mumbai and Delhi. We also sell dried lavender for potpourri, sachets and flower arrangements, and hydrosol, which is formed after distillation from the flowers, used to make soaps and room fresheners.”

Texas Senate advances bill banning paid sick leave ordinances | The Texas Tribune (Me: Texas state to local government – you have no rights, we are the bosses of you!)

The Texas Senate has revived a push to ban cities and counties from requiring companies to provide specific employee benefits like paid sick leave. Supporters say Senate Bill 14 will prevent regulatory confusion in a way that helps businesses regain their footing as the economy tries to recover from the pandemic’s devastating financial effects. But opponents say it reduces workers’ access to paid sick leave after they’ve been navigating the pandemic for more than a year. “You have people on TV saying the most important thing to protect yourself from this virus is to stay at home if you don’t feel well, but we’re not going to do sick leave, so you can choose between going to work and eating,” said Rick Levy, the president of the Texas AFL-CIO.

Virginia Cop Who Pepper-Sprayed Black Lieutenant Finally Fired

What Black America wants is simple. We want those with the guns to be more cautious and sensible with our lives. We want the rules not to bend to whiteness when they fuck up. We want motherfuckers to stop being so fucking racist. We want our lives to matter.

During the stop a puzzled Nazario asks the officers “What’s going on?”

“What’s going on is you’re fixing to ride the lightning, son,” one officer yells back.

You can’t make sense of crazy, it will only make you lose your mind.
