Found Ya Blog | Bloggers Interview | Mental Health is health

A Writer's Deli

For today’s interview, we’ve got a topic which is of extreme significance. I, particularly am a huge advocate of mental well-being and eradication of the stigma surrounding it. To throw some light on the topic, we’ve with us a blogger whose life experience, optimism and practical ways to combat mental illness will be enlightening for the readers. The link to the blog is attached at the end for your reference. Happy Reading.

1.Thank you for this interview. What is your blog about and why the name Mental health is health?

My blog is about my journey through bipolar illness that started when I was in college and continues to this day, sometimes well managed and sometimes somewhat well managed. I feel that stigma is a major issue in the field of Mental Health – perhaps adding up to half of the battle for many people who are…

Rainy day!

Bio-Blogger

On a Rainy day

When clouds are dark

My thoughts in the park

Deeply into nature’s look

I feel you from my back

Warmth of your breath flake

Making me to feel like a snow flake

Our thoughts are flowing like a lake

When we had no choice to make

Our eyes got pleased to set back

With no words to wishper or speak

It’s raining

We both are rinsing

Our thoughts are syncing

Our hearts are feeling

Our souls are romancing

My body & voice are trembling

Your wishperings are pleasing

When our breaths are slow striking

Moon must be out there peeping

Stars must be there twinkling

The pleasure of heavenly feeling

Tears in my eyes are streaming

My heart started questioning

Why was I only be dreaming?

How can I stop my heart from fainting?

You & Me will ever be really meeting?

The answer? God must…

I learned how to ride a bike in Sheikh Jarrah – The Boston Globe

Not only did Israel steal my grandfather’s land; it has also stolen Jerusalem from me. Growing up in the city, I was an undocumented resident in Israel’s eyes despite the fact that my mother’s family has lived there for generations. My mom was born and raised a mere 10-minute walk from my childhood home, but my father’s family is from Tulkarem, a small city in the West Bank. And so my dad, my siblings, and I have West Bank IDs while my mom, a Jerusalemite, has a Jerusalem ID. That meant that while my mother had a right to live in Jerusalem, the rest of us were only guests in our own home, living there because we renewed travel permits that technically allowed us only entry into Jerusalem, not a permanent stay. (Israel has been trying to revoke Jerusalem IDs from Palestinians like my mom for decades.)

Because I still have a West Bank ID, as an adult I can never live in Jerusalem again despite it being my hometown. Under Israeli law, West Bankers aren’t allowed to drive or work in Jerusalem unless they have special permits, which are very rare and hard to get. They are also not allowed to buy or rent a home. But those rules do not apply to Jewish people, be they from Israel or anywhere else in the world. So long as someone can prove their Jewish ancestry, Israel will help them settle in Jerusalem and offer them full rights and privileges — ones that I, an indigenous Palestinian, can never get for the sole reason of my identity.

Facebook said it would stop recommending anti-vaccine groups. It didn’t.

Facebook broadcast a sweeping pledge in a Feb. 8 blog post: It would remove false claims about vaccines from its platform. The declaration followed a series of promises over the preceding months to curb bogus health information on its site, particularly misinformation surrounding the pandemic. This included a commitment in September to stop recommending “health groups” in order to halt the practice of people turning to fellow Facebook users instead of doctors for medical advice.

But data from The Markup’s Citizen Browser project shows that not only is COVID-19 misinformation still easy to find on Facebook, the company has also continued to recommend health groups to its users, including blatantly anti-vaccine groups and pages explicitly founded to propagate lies about the pandemic.

They recovered from COVID, only to die of ‘black fungus.’ What we know about the disease sweeping India – San Gabriel Valley Tribune

“We now have a new challenge of black fungus, we need to be cautious and prepare for it,” Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said Friday.

At least seven states have declared black fungus a notifiable disease, in accordance with the central government’s advisory to collect data, according to respective state government authorities.

“These cases are being found in patients who have recovered from COVID, so there are a number of complications,” said J. V. Modi, medical superintendent at Gujarat’s Ahmedabad Civil Hospital. He added the hospital has seen a rise of cases in the past 10 days, as the country appeared to pass the peak of its second coronavirus wave.

On May 15 and 16, 2021, Chileans voted for citizen representatives who will rewrite Chile’s constitution and help the country leave behind the previous political system designed by a dictatorship of decades past. Citizens also voted for governors, mayors, and city council members that work together with the mayor. And for the first time in history, Indigenous Chileans voted for a representative of their culture to help re-write the constitution.

These elections were groundbreaking – through a democratic process, Chile was able to handle a political crisis. Back in 2019, protests rocked the country, provoking a collapse of the political system. At first, Chileans protested a hike in transportation fares, but the discontent was much deeper than that: people were not satisfied at many levels with Chilean society. Reports of police violence multiplied.

5 items in 1 hour – Fresh & Tasty

Few weeks back we unexpectedly saw produce junction in another city while visiting someone. You guys, if you have produce junction near you, I will call you the lucky bunch. The prices are crazy cheap. I mean like crazy crazy. All below veggies and fruits came under $40. That’s a lot of veggies and I have been cooking with different varieties of the veggies for weeks now.

In addition, there are some items which I never saw or heard before like pink pears and golden beetroot. Yep, I definitely picked them up. I often say to my hubby that, I have more interest to cook when the fridge is full. I wasn’t kidding. Today I made a complete veggie lunch – no rice or pasta or any carbs to accompany the veggies. They did make quite a show and surprised us…

Thin Leaved Sunflower

Michael Stephen Wills Photography

“Out in the meadow, I picked a wild sunflower, and as I looked into its golden heart, such a wave of homesickness came over me that I almost wept. I wanted Mother, withher gentle voice and quiet firmness; I longed to hear Father’s jolly songs and to see his twinkling blue eyes; I was lonesome for the sister with whom I used to play in the meadow picking daisies and wild sunflowers.”
