COVID-19 cure already discovered? Ivermectin ‘can end this pandemic’ – Study Finds

Those findings reveal treating COVID-19 patients with ivermectin resulted in large drops in coronavirus deaths. The recovery time from an infection and the time it takes to clear COVID from someone’s system also saw significant reductions among patients on ivermectin. Additionally, three randomized controlled trials and five observational controlled trials which included nearly 2,500 healthy participants discovered using ivermectin noticeably reduces the risk of contracting COVID-19.

So the question is, why aren’t doctors in the United States and elsewhere using ivermectin to treat COVID patients in 2021? Study authors don’t have an answer for that, but are urging doctors everywhere to demand that local and national health officials add ivermectin to the list of approved coronavirus treatments right away.

“Our latest research shows, once again, that when the totality of the evidence is examined, there is no doubt that ivermectin is highly effective as a safe prophylaxis and treatment for COVID-19,” adds Paul E. Marik, M.D., FCCM, FCCP, founding member of the FLCCC and chief of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Eastern Virginia Medical School.

“We can no longer rely on many of the larger health authorities to make an honest examination of the medical and scientific evidence. So, we are calling on regional public health authorities and medical professionals around the world to demand that ivermectin be included in their standard of care right away so we can end this pandemic once and for all.”

Once a Rich Desert River, the Gila Struggles to Keep Flowing – Yale E360

The rivers frequently flooded their banks, a life-giving pulse that created sprawling riverside cienegas, or fertile wetlands; braided and beaver-dammed channels; meandering oxbows; and bosques — riparian habitats with towering cottonwoods, mesquite and willows. This lush, wet Arizona landscape, combined with the searing heat of the Sonoran Desert, gave rise to a vast array of insects, fish and wildlife, including apex predators such as Mexican wolves, grizzly bears, jaguars and cougars, which prowled the river corridors.

The confluence now is a very different place, its richness long diminished. A massive mountain of orange- and dun-colored smelter tailings, left from the days of copper and lead processing and riddled with arsenic, towers where the two rivers meet. Water rarely flows there, with an occasional summer downpour delivering an ephemeral trickle.

On a recent visit, only a few brown, stagnant pools remained. In one, hundreds of small fish gasped for oxygen. An egret that had been feeding on the fish flew off. The plop of a bull frog, an invasive species, echoed in the hot, still air.

Pfizer and BioNTech Are Developing a Vaccine That Targets Delta Variant – The New York Times

Pfizer and BioNTech announced on Thursday that they are developing a version of the coronavirus vaccine that targets Delta, a highly contagious variant that has spread to 98 countries. The companies expect to launch clinical trials of the vaccine in August.

The Delta variant, first identified in India, is believed to be about 60 percent more contagious than Alpha, the version of the virus that tore through Britain and much of Europe earlier this year, and perhaps twice as contagious as the original coronavirus. The Delta variant is now driving outbreaks among unvaccinated populations in countries like Malaysia, Portugal, Indonesia and Australia.

Delta is also now the dominant variant in the United States, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported this week.

Pfizer to ask US to authorize third Covid vaccine shot as booster | Coronavirus | The Guardian

Pfizer plans to ask US regulators to authorize a booster dose of its Covid-19 vaccine within the next month, the drugmaker’s top scientist said on Thursday.

The announcement was based on evidence of greater risk of reinfection six months after inoculation and due to the spread of the highly contagious Delta variant of coronavirus.

And the US pharmaceutical company and its German partner BioNTech have started designing a version of their vaccine specifically to combat the highly-contagious Delta variant, Pfizer’s chief scientific officer, Mikael Dolsten, said.

However, the companies do not think they will need to replace the current version of their highly-successful shot.
