Police groups say ‘defunding the police’ was not proposed in reform talks, counter to GOP senator’s claim – The Washington Post (Me: GOP lies to get out of hole it dug for itself)
“Despite some media reports, at no point did any legislative draft propose ‘defunding the police,’” the groups said in their statement. “In fact, the legislation specifically provided additional funding to assist law enforcement agencies in training, agency accreditation, and data collection initiatives.
YouTube is banning Joseph Mercola and a handful of other anti-vaccine activists – The Washington Post
Misinformation researchers have for years said the popularity of anti-vaccine content on YouTube was contributing to growing skepticism of lifesaving vaccines in the United States and around the world. Vaccination rates have slowed and about 56 percent of the U.S. population has had two shots, compared with 71 percent in Canada and 67 percent in the United Kingdom. In July, President Biden said social media companies were partially responsible for spreading misinformation about the vaccines, and need to do more to address the issue.
The 39th Step – Making a life change | Ned Hamson’s Second Line View of the News
“I want to live an Open Life with grace and simplicity.
I want to be more creative, to be constantly learning and growing.”
Many of us hear these words and our heart sings back, Yes, so do I!
Then our head says in a not so pleasant voice, So, how do I do it, how do I begin?

SARS-CoV-2 Postvaccination Infections Among Staff Members of a Tertiary Care University Hospital – Vienna, January-July 2021; an Exploratory Study on 8 500 Employees with Better Outcome of Vector than m-RNA Vaccine by Sophie Brunner, Tibor Spath, Gabriela Kornek, Bernhard Parschalk, Maximilian Schnetzinger, Robert Strassl, Rebeka Savic, Andrea Foit, Helene Resch, Florian Thalhammer :: SSRN
Interpretation: mRNA and vector vaccines against COVID-19 are both highly effective in protecting against a broad genomic spectrum of SARS-CoV-2 infections, at least with respect to severe illness. In the present investigation VAXZEVRIA was more effective than COMIRNATY with respect to prevent breakthrough infections after full immunization, however, it seems important, that all recommended vaccine doses are applicated. Maintaining distinct precautions and ongoing testing, at least for the immediate period after vaccination, to detect asymptomatic infections is highly recommended. California’s ban on all-white-male boardrooms is spreading – Los Angeles Times
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce threw its support behind the Nasdaq diversity plan and a similar proposal in Congress for a national rule.
“We have seen California make a lot of progress,” said Democratic U.S. Sen. Alex Padilla, who in his previous job as California secretary of state was charged with ensuring the 647 public companies headquartered there followed the law. “It is what makes sense for the nation, as well.”
