  I wrote the short story   “Think Before Meddling With Archangels (how I wish I’d thought to shorten that title earlier!) as a completion of the initial scene Angels and Clay Blobs that I started back in 2012, and finally posted in 2014.  In between these two versions, I went through a couple of earlier (one with a name I liked, but feared might catch some flack, so changed it…) versions before finally posting TBMWA, which was my first, and so far only,  entry for a story contest, this one based on rational decision-making narrative.

Txai Suruí added that the schedules announced at the COP-26 negotiating table by government officials for reducing carbon emissions and decreasing the use of fossil fuels were totally inadequate.

«We are going to curb the emissions of lying and irresponsible promises, we are going to end the pollution of empty promises and we are going to fight for a livable future and present.

It’s not in 2030 or 2050,» she emphasized, «It’s now.»

Oxford Scientists Find Gene That Doubles Risk of Dying From Covid-19 – Slashdot

People with the gene, known as LZTFL1, would particularly benefit from vaccination, which remains the best method of protection, the authors said. The findings raise the possibility of research into treatments specific to patients with this gene, though no tailored drugs are currently available.
