One of the issues with Covid since the start of the disease has been breathing difficulty.
It turns out that the explanation for breathing difficulty may lie in the say mechanism that explains brain injury from Covid. The brain issue was discussed in a prior post back around the holidays. Lung damage is discussed in a new research report from the German Center for Infection Research.(1) This research team is led by Professor Christine Falk.
The disease triggers an immune system response — in some cases and excessive response. One of the things that this immune response can do is attack the endothelial cells which line blood vessels. The purpose of these cells, collectively called the endothelium, is to maintain the integrity of the blood vessels and prevent leaks of blood into tissue in the body where it doesn’t belong.
