Far right celebrates after Johnson repeats ‘Savile slur’ in parliament | Boris Johnson | The Guardian

A network of white supremacists, neo-Nazis and antisemites has celebrated Boris Johnson’s false claim that Keir Starmer failed to prosecute Jimmy Savile.

Johnson was roundly criticised, including by some Tory MPs, after he made the accusation during an ill-tempered exchange in the Commons last Monday.

His accusation led to renewed calls for him to resign, prompted chancellor Rishi Sunak to publicly rebuke the prime minister and saw one of his closest aides, Munira Mirza, quit over her boss’s “scurrilous accusation” and subsequent failure to apologise.

An Observer investigation can now reveal how Johnson’s comments have since been seized upon by notorious far-right groups including the Pie and Mash Squad, a network of football hooligans linked to the anti-Muslim English Defence League and violent Casuals United, as well as a white nationalist organisation called the Traditional Britain Group.

Alphabet soup for the soul vol.2 –“R”

Words from Walden

R is for Regulate

“The emotionally intelligent person is skilled in four areas: identifying emotions, using emotions, understanding emotions, and regulating emotions” – John Mayer-

Regulating ourselves and our emotions is the key to a healthy mind and happy life.

If we do not regulate our body and emotions then we are at the mercy of our mind and happiness and we will get stuck reacting internally to external circumstances.

If, however, when we get overwhelmed (which happens to almost everyone from time to time) we stop, breathe and regulate our response, that is what it becomes. A response instead of a reaction.

Daniel Goleman speaks about this eloquently in his book Emotional Intelligence calling it ‘Amygdala Hijack’.

The author says if we feel ‘Amygdala Hijack’ coming on, there is a second or two where we can make a decision of how to respond. If we regulate ourselves at…

Trump’s Got a “hunch”  (he said in the early covid days), that its lethality was exaggerated.

How many failed fact checkers has he?

Trump’s reason not to be honest about Covid19:

“To protect”  (avoid panic)

Manipulate

Save face

Habit

HOW DO YOU FEEL about “bending the truth?”  What does it do to a relationship?  Even technically a white lie?

Once I’ve caught someone in a white lie I hold the relationship at arm’s length.  I fail to confront, because I’m not good with spoken words or assertiveness, and I possibly think a dishonest relationship is better than none?

Thumbs Up To Mike Pence (And Other Stuff)

Filosofa's Word

Mike Pence held a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives from 2001-2013.  He was Governor of Indiana from 2013-2017 when he became the Vice President of the U.S.  Pence holds a Bachelor of Arts in history from Hanover College and a Juris Doctor from the Robert H. McKinney School of Law at Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis.  Mike Pence knows the law.  Donald Trump holds only a business degree and it is highly suspected that his father bought it since Donnie’s grades were far below par.  He does NOT know the law and furthermore doesn’t care … he makes it up as he goes and he seems to believe that his word, especially when he occupied the Oval Office, was the law.

On January 6th 2021, Mike Pence upheld the law, he certified the votes of We the People and refused to cave to the pressure being put upon…
