Atitude de milhões

Pensamentos.me/VEM comigo!

Adoro livros. Estes me fazem melhorar o raciocínio.

Beijos no coração!..

La ricetta del giorno

Napoli ieri oggi e domani

Sformato primavera

Ingredienti: piselli sgranati (o surgelati) 150gr, carote 200gr, patate 400gr, fontina 200gr, latte 5dl, 3 uova, parmigiano, prezzemolo, olio extravergine d’oliva, sale.

Feeding the People

From Behind the Pen

Image Captured from NPR

Whenever I have one of those days where I am feeling listless and not useful, something shows up to slap me out of my conundrum. Just before going to bed one night, I watched one of my late-night show homeboys, Stephen Colbert. His two guests were Chef Andrés and Ron Howard, discussing their recent trip to Ukraine. This segment was a simple reminder of the reason why we cannot get bogged down in our woes because there is someone in a far dire situation.

José Ramón Andrés Puerta, a Spanish chef and founder ofWorld Central Kitchen, heads a non-profit devoted to providing meals in the wake of natural disasters. I was watching him recently when he reluctantly allowedRon Howard(my Opie Taylor from The Andy Griffith Show) to do a documentary about his organization. He was reluctant in the beginning because he…

Jicama Avocado Salad

snapshotsincursive

What’s Cooking in Gail’s Kitchen? Fab Foodstuff: Jicama Avocado Salad! Allow me to introduce you to the legume family. Jicama is a cousin to beans, peas, and lentils. It provides protein, which is important to everyone, whether you’re a vegetarian or not. Choosing foods that are beneficial to a healthy diet can keep a weekly menu from turning hum-drum and boring. Jicama can be prepared in any number of ways. Eating it raw is just one of them. Its taste slightly resembles a crispy red apple. Only recently I slathered peanut butter all over a slice as a variation from a celery stick. Jicama is also low-carb, if that’s important to you. Not a raw-veggie-kind-of-person? Slice ‘em up and make a batch of french fries. It works.

JICAMA AVOCADO SALAD

Ingredients:

I large jicama

1 avocado, pitted and chopped

Zest of 2 limes

1 teaspoon Tajin seasoning

1/4 teaspoon smoky…
