Leckeres mit Zwiebeln … Tasty onion dish

Stella, oh, Stella

Pensamentos.me/VEM comigo!

More Words Of Wisdom

Filosofa's Word

Of the several newsletters I subscribe to, one of my favourites is by Robert B. Hubbell.  I don’t know much about Mr. Hubbell apart from the fact that he is an attorney in California, but he often speaks words of wisdom.  I’m sharing the first part of his newsletter from this morning about President Biden’s speech last night.  If you enjoy his style, feel free to subscribe to his newsletter – it’s free!

Biden meets the moment.

June 3, 2022

Robert B. Hubbell

[Audio version here ]

President Biden met the moment by delivering a powerful call to “stop the carnage” caused by endless mass killings of America’s youth. In a speech delivered Thursday evening, he rose above his familiar role of “consoler-in-chief” to deliver a strong call to (1) ban assault rifles, (2) implement universal background checks, and (3) rescind legal immunity for manufacturers of firearms. Failing a complete…

Cases of COVID-19 go up in Arkansas | KATV

According to the Arkansas Department of Health dashboard, there are over 4000 active cases of COVID-19 as of June 1st.

Dr. Dillaha, director of Arkansas Department of Health, said since testing across the state has changed, there could be even higher numbers of people infected with the virus.

“This is the tip of the iceberg because a lot of people are experiencing mild symptoms and they are not getting tested, or doing at home tests,” Dillaha said. “We don’t get the results of those test reported to the health department.

Dillaha said medical professionals are still learning about the lingering impacts COVID-19 can have on those infected.

“Even people that were not sick enough to go into the hospital are having long COVID, they’re the majority of the cases,” said Dillaha.

Dillaha and Dr. Robert Hopkins, UAMS Director of Divisions of General Internal Medicine, said getting vaccinated should be a priority to help reduce risk of severe infection.

“I don’t want people to just ignore this. This is not a time to back off precautions,” Hopkins said. “Let’s reduce your risk for getting an infection during this summer time when you want to spend time with family and friends.”
