More than ever we need to make sure we’re aware of any new voting  regulations in our state and prepare for them.

California Rep. Judy Chu among 181 arrested at D.C. abortion rights protest

“The decision to march today was easy — I came out to march for the young rape survivor, the woman who cannot afford to travel to another state to access critical care, the mother with an ectopic pregnancy whose life is in danger,” Chu wrote on Twitter.

Her account also showed a picture of the 68-year-old from Los Angeles being handcuffed by police officers. The photo was posted with the caption: “I’m not backing down-not now, not ever.”

Chu, the first Chinese woman voted into Congress, was first elected in 2009.

USDA Allocates Nearly $1B for Schools to Purchase U.S.-Grown Foods | Food Manufacturing

The Biden Administration announced Thursday that the U.S. Department of Agriculture will provide nearly $1 billion in additional funding to schools to support the purchase of American-grown foods for their meal programs.

The department also applauds the President’s recent signing of the Keep Kids Fed Act, which equips schools, summer meal sites, and child care food programs with extra resources so they can continue serving children through school year 2022-2023. Both actions are a response to the significant challenges child nutrition program operators continue to face, such as high food costs and supply chain disruptions.

Myanmar People Fear for Suu Kyi’s Life After Move to Prison; World Largely Silent

Since the regime’s transfer of Myanmar’s elected leader Daw Aung San Suu Kyi to solitary confinement in a prison, most people in the country can’t help worrying that her life will be in danger, especially given her old age.

They know that their leader will remain calm and strong in spirit, even though she is alone. However, as she is a prisoner of the brutal and wicked regime at the age of 77, they are concerned over her fragile state and her wellbeing.
