The concept of “emotive language” is a technical term used to refer to the use of specific terms that have specific argumentative effects. In particular, they can affect the interlocutor’s emotions, and lead him or her to accept or view a certain viewpoint or policy more favorably. Clearly, such words can be manipulated and become fallaciously used. Emotive use of language can be illustrated this example. Bertrand Russell, on the BBC radio in the Brains Trust program, gave three examples designed to illustrate the natural tendency to use words in a persuasive way that support one’s own view and attack an opposed view.

Climate Democracy Action Program: training and support for advocates and policymakers

On June 29, 2022, the Climate Democracy Action Program was launched. It is a training and support program aimed at developing effective, participatory initiatives that will propel climate justice, urgent action and an inclusive and equitable climate transition. It’s all about people!

The CDA Program is a collaboration between People Powered, FIMA, and the World Resources Institute, with funding from Porticus. It will involve six months of free training for forty selected advocates or policymakers. At the end of the training, two participants will be chosen for an implementation grant for their action plan (one will be from sub-Saharan Africa).

Lawmaker’s comments about the Holocaust raise concerns

There’s very few things that would be worse than distorting the history of the Holocaust, Pasch added.

California Becomes The First U.S. State To Provide Public Funding For Plant-Based Meals In Schools From Grade K-12 – World Animal News

  • $100 million to support schools in procuring plant-based foods, as well as sustainably produced foods, California-grown foods, and foods to accommodate students with religious or other restricted diets.

  • $600 million to upgrade school kitchen infrastructure and to train and compensate foodservice workers, including how to prepare plant-based meals and increase scratch-cooking, an important facilitator for expanding healthy, plant-forward menus.
