Gardens by the Bay

Gardens by the Bay

Gardens by the Bay

The Gardens by the Bay is a nature park spanning 101 hectares in the Central Region of Singapore, adjacent to the Marina Reservoir. The park consists of three waterfront gardens: Bay South Garden, Bay East Garden and Bay Central Garden.

Gardens by the Bay is a huge, colourful, futuristic park in the bay area of Singapore. Among the standout features are the famous Supertree structures. These offer an impressive skywalk over the gardens, with oversized seashell-shaped greenhouses that recreate chilly mountain climates. There are hundreds of trees and plants to discover within, making Gardens by the Bay a great destination for both kids and grownups, and simply for those looking for a respite with stunning views.

Once you’ve glimpsed this beautifully designed green space (from the top of the Marina Bay Sands, perhaps) you won’t be able to stay away. Wander through…

Pensamentos.me/VEM comigo!

” Um cantinho e um violão

Este amor, uma canção

Pra fazer feliz a quem se ama

Muita calma pra pensar

E ter tempo pra sonhar

Da janela vê-se o Corcovado

O Redentor que lindo

Quero a vida sempre assim com você perto de mim

Até o apagar da velha chama

E eu que era triste

Descrente deste mundo

Ao encontrar você eu conheci

O que é felicidade meu amor

O que é felicidade, o que é felicidade

It’s a CELEBRATION! Didn’t you know? For what? For no reason whatsoever. Just celebrate the gift of life today. You don’t need money, just a state of mind grounded in gratitude. Live each day to the fullest!

You don’t need to wait
for reasons to celebrate
just spread love, not hate.

♫ Stayin’ Alive ♫

Filosofa's Word

I promised earlier this week that I would play one that wasn’t a redux, that I hadn’t played here before, and … {drumroll}here it is!!!  I wracked my brain (such as it is) and I thought I might like to do something by the Bee Gees.  So, I put on my blindfold, spun the wheel, and this is what came up!  I hope you like it!

This plays over the opening credits of the 1977 movie Saturday Night Fever while John Travolta struts through the streets of New York City. The movie has come to represent the disco era, and has made Stayin’ Alive one of the songs most associated with disco.  Their contributions to Saturday Night Fever brought them huge success, but marked them as disco singers.

In a 1989 interview with Q magazine, they talked about this stigma and why they didn’t deserve it. Said Robin…

COVID-19: Masks a ‘recommendation’ as Cincinnati cases rise

Masks are now recommended to be worn indoors in Hamilton County and other parts of the Cincinnati region due to the high risk of COVID-19 spead. But many local agencies are leaving guidance up to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention – forgoing strong community enforcement in place of the automatic federal suggestion.

French Fridays with more Maryse Condé

Context, Thought, and Learning: ShiraDest Offers Project Do Better

MaryseC

Attention-grabbing, informative, saddening, and thought-provoking, this book is worth owning and also learning French to read it. The author has spun in so many different perspectives, but never actually leaves you hanging, except at the end where there is a cliffhanger. From the ancestor worshiping Africans perspective, to the newly converted Islamic Africans perspective, to the despised mixed race children, who don’t get a perspective actually, to a couple of the European slave owners perspectives, she has really done a wonderful job of spinning in various points of view and the cultural descriptions and perspectives are amazing.

I actually read this set by French author Maryse Condé out of order, and it worked really well.

Last week, I reviewed Tome 2, which I actually read first, and preferred.
