Still Summer

Daily Observation

Gentle Summer is continuing

Yet, signs of Autumn are there

The energy of something great looming

Feather clouds everywhere

Colouring-In Book Day

Lolsys Library

Let’s have a bit of a break from the mean and the bad and the toxic real world.

I have so many colouring in books, I tend to get a lot of them for Birthdays and Christmas, and you know what? I am not complaining. They are such a great distractions. Just put the tv on, or some music, or whatever takes your fancy and colour away. I’ve got Lions, Tigers and Bears that are pink, blue and green and gold and purple, and well a bit of everything.

I actually get a little impatient with the mandala type ones. I think because, well, they’re mandalas. They are like, a shape and if you don’t colour them in “right” they can just look like a mess. Once you’ve got a colour, you kind of have to stick with it. For me, that can get a little boring.

Feminicídio

Pensamentos.me/VEM comigo!

Since September 13 marks Celiac Awareness Day in honor of the birth of the British doctor who first identified celiac disease back in 1888, we thought it a good time to assemble a list of some of our favorite gluten-free recipes from our archives. This is by no means an exhaustive list, of course. Many recipes are naturally gluten-free, so consider this simply a sampler platter to get you started. Republican’s wealth boosted by stake in company whose growth linked to China | Wisconsin | The Guardian

A close examination of Johnson’s financial disclosures and other public filings to the Securities and Exchange Commission, legal filings and other public records reveal that Johnson’s wealth was boosted by his company’s ties to another company that was owned and managed by his family, which in turn grew its business in China, acquired businesses in China, and reported having a loan worth tens of millions of dollars from the Bank of China.

In one case, the company run by Johnson’s family sued the US government to try to press for softer trade relations with Beijing, a position that Johnson himself adopted in a rare break with Trump administration policies.

Johnson sold his stake in Pacur in 2020, although documents show that an LLC owned by Johnson and his wife, Jane, still receives up to $1m annually through rent and royalties as owners of the building where Pacur operates.

Pacur was co-founded by Johnson and his brother-in-law in the 1970s. It was in effect closely tied to a larger company called Bemis, which was founded and run by Johnson’s father-in-law, Howard Curler.

♫ I’ve Gotta Be Me ♫

Filosofa's Word

I’ve played this only once before, about two years ago, and tonight it just felt … right.

Recently, a friend and I were discussing our childhoods, and I confessed that I was a disappointment to both of my parents, though in different ways.  My mother wanted a little girl that she could dress up as a doll in frilly, lacy dresses, and instead she got me, who would much rather play in a mud puddle or climb a tree than sit and sip tea in a dress so starched that it whispered.  My dad, on the other hand, always wanted a boy, and instead he got me, who had zero interest in sports and took nearly 90 swings to hit a single golf ball!  Anyway … long story short, I was never the person either of them envisioned, but instead I grew up into … ME.  Complete with flaws and…
