I found another compilation of film footage from around the world, this time shot in the 1890s. Equally as fascinating as my previous post, but this 10-minute film is not enhanced for video, or colourised.

Holdouts and Additional Surrenders — Pacific Paratrooper

Australian Gen. Sir Thomas Blarney accepts surrender on Morotai Island, Dutch East Indies The logical demands of the surrender were formidable. So many different ceremonies took place across Asia and the entire Pacific. Here we will some that preceded peacefully and others that refused the peace. In actuality, the state of war between the […]

Did You Know – M & M’s — In Dianes Kitchen

Did you know M & M’s are named after the businessmen who created them, Forrest Mars and Bruce Murrie, who apparently didn’t have the best relationship. Mars leveraged Murrie out of his 20% share of the business before it became the biggest-selling sweet in the US, bad luck on his part! http://www.InDianesKitchen.com Source: Cosmopolitan Image: […]

Revamping and Rejustifying My Priorities ✅

Just when you think you have things all figured out and organized, you probably don’t. What I thought were priorities this early in the game really weren’t my priorities of what things needed to be. First things first, right? Well, I had to change a few things. Refocus, reorganize, and restart. Yep, that about sums it up. But honestly, who wants to go through all of that?
Without reprioritizing my current plans and goals, it would have been counterproductive to continue on the path of aspirations I was on. While nothing was wrong, I had to make this journey a little easier by lightening the load I was bearing. Here, I had to make some adjustments and recalibrate my location in order to avoid spinning my wheels on my path to successful achievements.
At times, we will make a list of things to do, yet sometimes the “order” of those…

A building product that consumes carbon dioxide
The idea for Carbstone started when Dirk Van Mechelen, R&D manager for the recycling company Orbix, noticed that steel slag hardened when exposed to CO2.

The stone, which absorbs more greenhouse gases than are produced from making it, can be used as construction materials, replacing carbon-intensive concrete.
“Carbstone has numerous advantages”, explains Serge Celis, CEO of Orbix. “Thanks to Carbstone, we convert metal slag into a high-quality circular product and, since CO2 is used as a binder, we avoid using cement, which accounts for 10% of global CO2 emissions.

The company is using Carbstone to build a variety of products beyond just Masterbloc (which can be used like concrete blocks.)
The technology has been utilised to make roofing tiles, bricks, and clinkers. Interest in the technology is reaching new highs and Orbix is ready to launch products across the world.

Bleeding – yaskhan
As I lay bleeding from inside, they walk all over me Their footprints locked in my blood’s captivity . My hands are empty, I have lost all my words The pages in my book whisper, their screams go unheard. I can no longer see or feel my dreams still, my dreams reach out to me , give me self esteem. Dreams taken from me, lost along the way I still feel them, I know they won’t betray. I cling to my quill and feel it’s comfort when I scribe, my thoughts are comfortably versed. I will not let the ink dry on my soul my subconscious hope will always console.

THE ONES WHO LOST EVERYTHING from “Sign of humanity”

Declaration of war rests on your fingers, the burden of war weighs upon our existence.
Your war will make you and yours richer, your war will make us poorer.
Your war will build up impenetrable iron walls for you and yours, your war will bring down our brick and glass walls.
Your war won’t stop your daily supplies, your war will turn us into scavengers.
Your war will make your sons philanthropists, your war will turn our sons into monsters.
Your war will make your daughters activists and drama queens, your war will turn our daughters into rape victims and trauma queens.
When you gain more and our hope is dead and buried, the decision to stop war will be yours not ours.
What is greater than gaining a space in the book of history?
Win (destroy more) or lose (destroy less) history will remember you and your generals by…

Old Bay Mayo
What’s Cooking in Gail’s Kitchen? Food With Soul: Old Bay Mayo! First of all, there is no substitute for Old Bay seasoning as a core ingredient in this post. It’s a sacred concoction, invented in the 1940s and respected by Southerners, containing 18 unspecified ingredients. If you try to use Cajun, Jerk, or generic blends, don’t blame me if the results are less than phenomenal. What I can assure is that it taste ah-mazing with shrimp, crab cakes, seafood, and more. Turn Old Bay Mayo into an aioli for sandwiches, dressing for salads, or condiment for meats. I can see you coming up with a dip for french fries, too. Don’t blame me; I’m just the messenger.
OLD BAY MAYO
Ingredients:
1/2 cup mayonnaise
2 teaspoons fresh chives, chopped
2 teaspoons dill weed, snipped
2 teaspoons lemon zest, grated
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon Old Bay* seasoning

Genuine affection – Silent Songs of Sonsnow
“The ability to smile seems to be unique to human beings. As social animals we need friends. Friendship is based on trust and trust grows when we show each other genuine affection. If we are honest, truthful and of service to others, we can also feel self-confident.” His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama
A Republic — If You Can Keep It — Filosofa’s Word

Legend has it a woman asked Benjamin Franklin a question as he exited Independence Hall after the Constitutional Convention in 1787. “Doctor, what have we got? A republic or a monarchy?” Franklin supposedly replied, “A republic, if you can keep it.” As I’ve expressed before, I keep looking around at what’s happening in this country, […]
