Texas Senate plan to finance power plants would cost $8 billion more than lawmakers said | KUT Radio, Austin’s NPR Station

A bill passed by the Senate proposed setting aside $10 billion to finance 10,000 megawatts of natural gas power plants. A document shows that amount would pay for only 5,800 megawatts.

Ako u islamskom svijetu postoji zdanje, koje se po tradiciji i ugledu može porediti sa Kabom u Meki, to je onda Kubat al-Sakra (ili Omarova džamija) u Jerusalimu, poznatija na Zapadu kao Kupola na stijeni. Naime, u trenucima nesigurnosti, kada je veliko hodočašće u Meku bilo zabranjeno, islam ga je zamijenio Kupolom na stijeni. Nešto više od šezdeset godina poslije hidžre (622), kada je Muhamed bježeći u Medinu označio početak islamskog doba, carstvo je još pokušavalo da ostvari jedinstvo i da sačini arhitektonska zdanja koja bi bila dostojna sve većeg značaja islama na međunarodonom planu. Tada je dinastija Omejada (661-750) dala novi ekspanzionistički podsticaj, zalažući se za unutrašnje jedinstvo i nastojeći da sačini zdanja koja ni po čemu neće zaostajati za onima iz drugih carstava i religija. Naročito je kalif Abd al-Malik (685-750), koji je dao da se sagradi Kupola na stijeni, bio tvorac reformi koje su, vjerovatno, zauvijek obilježile…

     The question is how does such “restructuring” happen?

     Following up on my earlier post regarding debt as a problem of financial self-defense, particularly in the case of apartment renters who are forced to live in a lemon or face Breach of Lease, Biblical Law may have something to say about the long term consequences of artificially pushing people into debt (talking about otherwise frugal folks who do not spend profligately).

     I respectfully submit that we have had one possible tool in our hands for several thousand years, and it may need to be examined in the context of our present debt crisis -the release of debts, both short term and long term, at different times. …
